00:00Oh, the Swiss rider, Liam Rivera, 26 years old, coming out of Verviers, Switzerland.
00:07The Swiss, another group that have brought an extremely talented team to come here and
00:12vie for a world champion's title.
00:15Liam Rivera directly out of start one with a fall line approach.
00:18Yeah, this fall line approach is really helpful to get a few turns in to make your confidence
00:23go higher and higher.
00:24But as you see, he's now entering into a much rockier zone.
00:28And this is a zone that there is only one way out of.
00:32Liam has to point it into the fall line, flying over the rocks and landing perfectly.
00:36There were a lot of questions about that.
00:38Christopher Turdell, close out Kouar.
00:40Now Liam Rivera coming into this jump, landing backflip, getting butt checked, coming out
00:45of the powder cloud, though.
00:46The judges notice things like that, Hadley.
00:48They certainly do.
00:49They'll dock that landing for sure.
00:51But Liam is on a tear for the rest of his run, really showing that fall line, strong,
00:56aggressive approach.
00:58And continuing to push Liam Rivera off that ledge.
01:04Now heading over into the lower section where a ton of terrain features are looming below.
01:11And it's a veritable maze for the riders to figure out exactly how to access the features
01:16that they want to get to.
01:17The Swiss fans down below getting wild with the cowbells as Liam Rivera entering an extremely
01:23technical section.
01:24Exactly.
01:25Beautiful double out of the Swiss rider.
01:28And he's still hungry for more.
01:31Able to make a nice three with this wind lip.
01:34You know what's so fascinating, Derek?
01:36A lot of people hitting just one air in one run is impressive.
01:40And you have to think these riders are hitting five, six massive cliffs just from top to bottom.
01:46And that takes such a good head space to be able to do.
01:49Yeah.
01:49Liam really connecting the dots there.
01:52Feature to feature to feature.
01:53And with the judging criteria the way they have, what aspects of that are the judges going
01:58to like?
01:58They're going to like, I mean, the commitment at the start for sure is something that they're
02:04going to really like.
02:05What you have to be careful with is that the features that you're hitting all sort of flow
02:10together.
02:11What they don't want is to see you go way across the venue just to hit one.
02:15They call it Pac-Man style.
02:17This is something they want to avoid.
02:18But I think Liam did a good job of seeing what in my run can I make advantage of?
02:23Not skipping anything and making sure that everything is worth hitting.
02:27Yeah.
02:27Tacking on some Aaron style points with the front side 360 and getting the grab.
02:32The judges love that.
02:33And the Swiss rider jogging into the finish.
02:36It's quite a long, flat approach to the finish.
02:38So you see some of the snowboarders having to unstrap before they even get to the end.
02:42Swiss flag there.
02:44Liam's Swiss compatriot, Jenna Keller, bringing the flag out as the judges.
02:48Now getting to work, gauging what he did against the criteria.
02:52Hadley, you mentioned the commitment to the fluidity at the top.
02:56That was such a critical piece of terrain that he just flashed.
03:00He really did such a great job.
03:01I think the only thing they're going to dock on is a few of those landings.
03:05He hit at least one in particular in my memory.
03:08He took it a little bit to his butt.
03:10So that will bring his score down.
03:12Well, they've had their say and it's an 84-3-3.
03:16So the Swiss rider.
