00:00Boxing has a quirky way of scoring.
00:02It's round by round, and unless there's a knockdown, it's just one point per round.
00:05So sometimes you can see a fight, and at the end you go, fighter A1.
00:08But when you break it down round by round, you go, I guess it was 6-6.
00:15Wishing you nothing but the best.
00:17Everybody believes you're a rising star, and I hope it proves true.
00:21And thus far, you're doing your thing.
00:23Congratulations to you.
00:26And some people maybe don't.
00:27How good is your Kurt Stevenson, in your opinion?
00:29He's not good. He's great.
00:31And I think tomorrow, the world will take notice of how great he is.
00:35There's a reason why certain fighters didn't want to take the chance to step in the ring with this fighter.
00:42Steven A. Smith and Max Kellerman praise Shakur's speed and rhythm,
00:46saying he looks sharp, controlled, and completely outclassed Teofimo.
00:50Say, wait a minute. Come on, man.
00:52Start that. Two different body types.
00:54One, to me, is a better puncher.
00:56Shakur can punch way better to the body than Lomo can.
00:59Lomo has more power and his weight than Shakur has had so far.
01:03I agree with this.
01:05Shakur's longer than Loma and naturally bigger, but you can't say Shakur that Shakur's ahead of Loma.
01:11He has not proven that yet.
01:13Maybe he will be, but, man, that's a lot.
01:15Very few fighters.
01:16He's a great.
01:17Shakur's your favorite fighter, though, Shady.
01:19Bro, I'm a favorite fighter.
01:20Shady also loves Teof.
01:22Shady's a big Teof.
01:23That's why one thing about your boy, I keep it a thousand.
01:26I don't have no favorites.
01:27You're no picks.
01:27Shakur, he's my guy.
01:28He's my guy.
01:28He's my youngin'.
01:29Max Kellerman says it's no big surprise since Teofimo even lost to Kambosos, who isn't nearly as skilled as Shakur Stevenson.
01:36No question, even in the loss that he had against Kambosos, where he had a puncture, like, he had some medical condition in his esophagus that, like, was dangerous, actually.
01:47And it looked like an off night.
01:48By the way, George, Kambosos doesn't like when I say this, and I apologize.
01:52I understand it feels unfair to you, and maybe it is unfair.
01:55After his loss and with an injured eye, Teofimo admits his game plan failed, says the better man won, and shows respect gracefully.
02:03Yo, what's up, man?
02:04How you doing, man?
02:04You're a solchon tonight?
02:05I'm just grateful to be here, man.
02:07That's all.
02:08You put on a performance tonight, and unfortunately, you came up short, but what was it that surprised you about Shakur Stevenson?
02:15Nothing.
02:16Nothing at all, man.
02:17Just didn't come with the right plan.
02:20That's all.
02:20Better man once next.
02:22Good for you.
02:22Do you feel like you'd like to run it back at some point with Shakur?
02:24I know you're someone that always wants to, like, that time Kambosos beat you, you want to do it straight away, right?
02:30I will see what happens next, man.
02:31I'm going to let my team do the work on that.
02:33Ryan Garcia on X states, not a good game plan from Teofimo, highlighting the tactical mistakes that allowed Shakur Stevenson to dominate effortlessly.
02:42Terrence Crawford praises Shakur Stevenson, saying he isn't just good, but great, the best, and now everyone will recognize his dominance.
02:50He's great.
02:52A lot of people started saying, oh, he's a runner, he's this, he's that.
02:56Just to detour people from being excited to see him fight because he's not knocking people out and all that crazy stuff, but they will see why people really don't want to get in the ring with him come tomorrow.
03:08I know you've shared the ring with him, scoring plenty of fans.
03:11What makes Shakur Stevenson great?
03:13What makes him different?
03:13What makes him, I don't want to say an elk of yourself, but in the same kind of era, the bug profit era, he's got a Shakur Stevenson era.
03:20Everything, everything.
03:22The offense, the defense, the poise, the rhythm, the distance, the timing, the punch placement, the react time.
03:32Like, I can go on and on, you know, the toughness, the grit, the grind, he's amazing, you know, and tomorrow he will show it.
03:42Wade Pelman states, Shakur Stevenson may damn well be the best boxer in the whole world right now.
03:47He just dominated Tio Lopez and made it look easy.
03:51As Shakur wins, he proves himself the best.
03:53Andre Ward reacts live, saying Shakur is great and will continue proving it.
03:58Man, he better leave that alone.
03:59What did you think of Shakur's performance?
04:01He did what he had to do, man, you know, there's always room for improvement.
04:04You know, I think he had a lot of stuff he could have did, but he's so talented and gifted, man, you know.
04:10You also got to trust what he's seeing in there, you know, we're on the outside, you know.
04:15But I think he put on a tremendous performance and obviously, you know, the level he's at, you always look for things he could do better, you know.
04:23What did you see from the outside that he might be?
04:24I mean, I'm just saying like, you know, like he, I think it was a lot of body work and stuff like that.
04:28He could have, he could have, he could have touched on, but again, he's in there, you know.
04:31So he's seeing stuff, he's feeling the punches.
04:33We're not.
04:33So you got to trust what he's seeing.
04:36Tfimo just couldn't get going.
04:37He put on a choke.
04:38Well, he tried to get going.
04:39He just wasn't allowed to.
04:40So it's just the distance and range that Shakur has just perfected throughout the years.
04:45And then making him pay when he does that discourages him to not want to punch anymore.
04:50And I think he was out of answers in the first round.
04:52He says Shakur is one of the world's top four fighters and will continue showing dominance.
04:57Honestly, I think he didn't really have any answers.
04:59When Teal starts doing a little certain things with his hands and starts playing the clown game, he got to answer.
05:03He's down to just one shot.
05:04So Shakur just stayed focused, stayed locked in.
05:07And, you know, was at four divisions now.
05:1026, 30, 35, 40.
05:12How good is Shakur?
05:13I interviewed Tyron Schofield.
05:14We don't know.
05:14He could be the greatest in the last time.
05:15We don't know.
05:16He's not done yet, you know, not done yet.
05:18He's a great for sure.
05:20How great?
05:21We're going to see.
05:22You know, he just, he got a lot.
05:23He can box as long as he wants to box.
05:25Lennox Lewis reacts to Shakur Stevenson dominating Teofimo Lopez, saying it's tough to counter such
05:31a great mover, and expected Shakur's dominance.
05:33Man, let me tell you, Shakur moved so well.
05:38He won every round, and he was just a step ahead with quickness and just with, you know,
05:44just a plan himself.
05:47Great plan coming in, and he did well.
05:51Congratulations to him.
05:52He won all the rounds?
05:53Is that what you're saying?
05:53He won all 12 rounds?
05:54Well, maybe he lost one, but he won the majority of rounds.
05:59At what time did you realize that this was just going to be Shakur taking over the whole
06:02fight?
06:03After the fourth round.
06:05After the fourth round?
06:07Teofimo, it seems like he couldn't just get it going.
06:09Like, he just tried differently going up and down.
06:11The counters were getting him.
06:13What could he do differently tonight?
06:14I don't know.
06:15You know, it's difficult to box against a great mover like that.
06:19And, you know, he tried.
06:21He tried.
06:22He definitely tried.
06:23His dad was emotional.
06:24You know, he wanted him to do better, but, you know, this is boxing.
06:28Keyshawn Davis says it's no surprise.
06:30He knew Shakur was going to perform like this, showing his skill and dominance.
06:34Eddie Hearn reacts, saying he was sure Shakur would win, but not this impressively.
06:53Shakur exceeded expectations, dominated brilliantly, and Eddie praises his skill, speed, and overall
06:59performance in the fight.
07:01He would just be too good.
07:02Yeah.
07:03Like, he didn't really have to go.
07:04Listen, I was fully confident he'd win the fight.
07:07I didn't think he'd win it as widely as that.
07:08I thought, you know, I mean, look, Teofimo's a great fighter.
07:11He made him look average in there.
07:12And that's because Shakur is so good.
07:14His IQ is so good.
07:15His footwork is so good.
07:17I actually think he could have stopped Teofimo if he would have pushed on the gas a little
07:19bit, but didn't need to.
07:21It was so easy.
07:22He's a four-division world champion at 28 years of age.
07:25Phenomenal.
07:25What was his excellency saying?
07:27Ring side watching it.
07:28Just that he's so good.
07:29You know, and I think sometimes people think that you, you know, Teofimo can do a little
07:34bit more, but like every time he tried to, he was just getting countered, peppered, and
07:38yeah, it was phenomenal to watch.
07:40Conor Benn always managed to come away.
07:42Started on a few people tonight, yeah.
07:44Shakur Stevenson, so I just spoke to him there.
07:46He said his style's boring.
07:48He said if you like boxing, he gets it.
07:50But other than that, it's easy work for him.
07:53That fight realistic?
07:54Yeah, why not?
07:55Look, for me, I still dream of Conor Benn winning a world title.
07:58Zack Schumacher states, you can criticize the performance, but you can't criticize the
08:03heart.
08:04Boxing needs more fighters like Teofimo, willing to give everything.
08:07He delivered the fight fans wanted, showing courage and determination.
08:11You have to respect that commitment and bravery, because putting it all on the line is what
08:15makes the sport great and earns admiration, regardless of the result.
08:20Teddy Atlas reacts live, expressing disappointment in Teofimo's performance so far.
08:24He says it's tied up, no good, not good.
08:28When you come in with all the talk, the antics of the father, you have to show more than this.
08:32Atlas notes that although Teofimo still has many rounds left, this start is underwhelming.
08:37He observes a minor headbutt, likely Teofimo's fault, as he rushes in headfirst, top heavy.
08:42Some judges might favor aggressors over tacticians, but Atlas stresses that aggression must be effective,
08:48not just reckless.
08:50Listen, bud, what you said, some people said 2-2.
08:53I understand.
08:54I think it's a shutout.
08:58Shakur won this round so far, but a little headbutt there, I guess.
09:06A warning from the ref.
09:07But, and that's probably the fault of Teofimo, to be honest.
09:11He's rushing in head heavy, top heavy.
09:15But some judges like the aggressor more than the tactician.
09:24But for me, it's got to be effective aggression.
09:31It can't just be aggression.
09:33And a little bit better close to the round by Lintez.
09:40Yeah, it was.
09:41He went to the body better.
09:42He had a little success with the right hand to the body.
09:45He got his range better.
09:46He praises Shakur's technical dominance, highlighting that Shakur controlled range,
09:51connected with the body, and used his right hand effectively.
09:54Atlas mentions that Teofimo's father urges him to hit Shakur,
09:58but Teddy hopes for better strategic advice because Teofimo needs it now.
10:02He debates scoring, noting Teofimo might have had a slightly better second half,
10:06but overall, he's behind.
10:08Atlas emphasizes that Shakur's jab is crucial.
10:11Both fighters know its value, but Shakur, a master of it, has maintained control.
10:17Ultimately, Teddy underscores that for Teofimo to stay competitive,
10:20he must adapt, build on small successes, and counter Shakur's precision.
10:24Without that, Shakur's dominance remains clear, and Teofimo faces a steep challenge.
10:29His friend, Terence Crawford, the great Terence Crawford,
10:33and they were, I think they were making fun, to be honest.
10:36I think they were chiding Lopez and his father.
10:41Um, I think they were chiding Lopez and his father a little bit.
10:45Yeah, there was a lot of talk before this fight and some nasty stuff said on both sides,
10:52but, uh, you'd like to think after the fight that they gain some respect and put that to bed.
11:04Terence Crawford doesn't lose, huh?
11:06No, you don't lose.
11:07Clarissa Shields expresses immense pride in Shakur Stevenson,
11:11applauding his dominant performance against Teofimo Lopez.
11:15She says Shakur didn't just win, he completely outclassed Teofimo,
11:18showcasing why he is one of the best fighters in the world.
11:21Shields highlights his precision, speed, and tactical brilliance,
11:25noting how effortlessly he controlled the fight and dictated the pace from start to finish.
11:29She emphasizes that performances like this solidify Shakur's place among the elite,
11:34proving he is not only a champion, but firmly among the top four in the division.
11:38Shields admires how Shakur combined defensive mastery with sharp offensive execution,
11:44making every move count while staying composed under pressure.
11:47She notes that even when Teofimo tried to adjust,
11:50Shakur's skill, timing, and intelligence in the ring made him untouchable.
11:55For Shields, this fight is a clear demonstration of Shakur's talent,
11:58heart, and status as one of boxing's very best today.
12:02Yeah, I know boxing.
12:04And like I told y'all, we were going to see a little bit of athleticism,
12:07but we were going to see Shakur beating his jab, going to the body,
12:11and we saw blood today.
12:15Shakur did great today.
12:16The only thing I can ask for is to stop him.
12:19I can't ask for nothing else.
12:20What did you think about, obviously, Teofimo's eye?
12:23He never seemed to be able to get into it at all.
12:26Is that kind of like the experience you've had?
12:28He won a round or two, maybe, but that's it.
12:31Shakur's dominant.
12:32He was able to hit him clean first round, able to avoid shots.
12:36Shakur is just on his A game.
12:38He's sharper, he's stronger, he's better, and now he's a four-dimension world champion.
12:42I'm so, I'm so, so proud of him.
12:44Pauly Malin-Aji reacts to Shakur Stevenson's performance,
12:47calling it a masterclass beyond epic proportions.
12:50He says,
12:51Malin-Aji praises Shakur's technical brilliance, noting that Teofimo tried everything, but Shakur's
13:08style, movement, and defensive mastery were unbelievable.
13:11What I just watched was a freaking masterclass beyond epic proportions.
13:16I thought Shakur might do something like this, but even this exceeded my expectations.
13:22You know, I thought it may be, if Shakur had a really good night, make it look easy and win 9-3-10-2.
13:29This was 12-0-11-1, and, I mean, it was next-level type stuff.
13:35The Teo was trying everything.
13:37The various wrinkles to Shakur's style are unbelievable.
13:40I mean, I know people like to say he runs.
13:42That's because they don't understand what they're watching.
13:45Rarely, in my mind, have I ever seen Shakur literally run.
13:48Is he defensive?
13:49Yes.
13:49Because he doesn't open up into crazy offensive routines.
13:53Okay, yes, so that makes him defensive, but he never really runs.
13:56He's a master of position.
13:57I'm always trying to talk about and explain to people that being a master of position is
14:02so important, you know, not breaking your position.
14:04And what I mean by that is, when you make a defensive move, you're not all over the place.
14:08He explains that people who say Shakur runs don't understand boxing, clarifying that Shakur
14:13doesn't run.
14:14He's defensive, controlled, and a master of position.
14:17Every defensive move leaves him balanced and ready to punch, keeping opponents guessing
14:22and unable to attack aggressively.
14:24Malin Aji emphasizes that true defensive mastery allows a fighter to remain effective without
14:29compromising position, unlike less skilled fighters who wind up running or contorting
14:34their bodies.
14:35He compares Shakur to Floyd Mayweather and Terrence Crawford, noting that while Crawford was slightly
14:40more offensive, mastery of position is essential at the elite level.
14:43Pauly highlights Shakur's southpaw jab, describing it as snappy, sharp, versatile, and extremely
14:50difficult to counter.
14:51Overall, he calls Shakur a next-level defensive specialist and a brilliant tactical fighter
14:56whose performance exceeded expectations.
14:58When your position is great, it doesn't necessarily mean you punch every time you make a defensive
15:02move, but every defensive move you make leaves you balanced enough and in a position
15:07enough to be able to punch if you want to, if you have the option to punch.
15:11And your opponent sees that and that's why your opponent doesn't attack as aggressively
15:15because sometimes they do get countered, sometimes they don't, you keep them guessing,
15:18but your position is always a position that you can punch off of.
15:23When guys aren't great at position, even when they make guys miss or whatever, they'll wind
15:28up in contorted position situations where they are not able to punch.
15:32That's not a really great defensive fighter and a lot of times they wind up running and
15:36going to flight and so on and so forth.
15:37That leads to those kind of lapses where pressure fighters end up getting to guys.
15:42But even if you're not a huge puncher, if you're a master of position, you're always
15:45going to have the edge, it's just how much of a master are you going to be?
15:48Shakur is a next level master of position.
15:51He's a defensive specialist.
15:53I think the broadcast made a good point.
15:55Shakur Stevenson completely outclassed Teofimo Lopez in their recent matchup, showcasing precision,
16:01timing, and masterful ring IQ.
16:03From the opening rounds, Stevenson's jab was sharp and accurate, controlling the distance
16:08and setting up combinations before Lopez could mount any serious offense.
16:12Lopez tried to push the pace early, but his efforts were undermined by a lowered lead
16:17hand and a tendency to overcommit, which left him vulnerable to Stevenson's stiff, snapping
16:22jab.
16:22After the combinations, it wasn't the most entertaining fight because it was really a slow-paced type
16:29of a fight.
16:30You know, pop shotting, kind of in Shakur Stevenson's pace.
16:35And Teofimo Lopez needed to do something different in this fight.
16:40He needed to get, you know, Shakur out of his character.
16:43He needed to push the pace, which he did in round one, but wasn't successful.
16:49He was jumping into his punch, his lead hand was down, and he was getting clipped with every
16:54stiff jab possible.
16:57I mean, Shakur Stevenson definitely got one of the best jabs in boxing.
17:01I've been saying this for a while now, and it's really due to the snap of the punch and
17:06the relaxation.
17:09He's so relaxed in the pocket.
17:10He's so relaxed in the ring.
17:13Fight's pace favored Stevenson, who dictated the tempo with relaxed, fluid movement, never
17:18forcing exchanges and maintaining superb defensive positioning.
17:21His timing was impeccable, allowing him to land counter shots effortlessly and neutralize
17:26Lopez's aggression.
17:27While not the most electrifying fight in terms of non-stop action, it highlighted the technical
17:32brilliance of Stevenson, proving why his jab is considered one of the best in boxing today.
17:37Lopez may have had moments of success in the opening round, but Stevenson's control over
17:42range and rhythm made it clear that he dominated the fight from start to finish.
17:47His performance was a masterclass in boxing, leaving little doubt about his skill level and
17:51strategic intelligence in the ring.
17:53Shout out to Teofimo Lopez.
17:55He tried his best.
17:57You know, shout out to Turkey Alashik for putting on the fight.
18:01But this was definitely a masterclass.
18:03If anything, Teofimo Lopez might have won one round out of this whole fight.
18:09But, you know, Teofimo Lopez might have won one round out of this whole fight.
18:11He's a masterclass.
18:13Now, he calls out Conor Benn.
18:16Conor Benn comes into the ring, says you too small.
18:20But also, you know, Shaquan Stevenson says he wants that rehydration clause, the same
18:26rehydration clause you put Chris Eubank through.
18:29So, I don't know if this fight's going to happen due to the fact that, you know, I don't know
18:35if, you know, Conor Benn is really willing to do that.
18:39Knowing that, you know, Conor Benn is number one in the WBC looking for that Ryan Garcia.
18:44That's it for today's video.
18:46Stay tuned until next time.
