Australia's outgoing ambassador to the US and former prime minister Kevin Rudd is one of the latest names to appear in the Epstein files. But Mr Rudd says he declined all invitations from Jeffrey Epstein and the pair have never met.

00:00The former Prime Minister's name appeared in several emails, revealing efforts by third parties to secure his attendance at various events with Jeffrey Epstein.
00:13In one email, Epstein suggested to another acquaintance that Kevin Rudd could join an event at his house, including several other high-profile individuals, such as former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and actor Woody Allen.
00:29In a statement provided to the ABC, Kevin Rudd's office insists that the former Prime Minister never met Epstein.
00:37No introduction ever took place and there is no evidence of any direct contact between Jeffrey Epstein and either Dr Rudd or his office, the statement says.
00:47It says most references to Dr Rudd in these latest documents mention him in passing.
00:53Kevin Rudd is about to finish his posting as Australia's ambassador to the US at the end of March, a year earlier than scheduled.
