00:08Hollywood's reboot trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Now, Punky Brewster,
00:12the 1980s NBC sitcom about a young girl who was raised by a foster parent,
00:16is being revived by Universal Content Productions, with original star Soleil Moonfry
00:21set to reprise her role as Punky. A network is not yet attached.
00:25The new take will see Fry's character, Punky, now a single mother of three,
00:29as she attempts to get her life back on track when she meets a girl who reminds her of her younger self.
00:34The original Punky Brewster ran for four seasons on NBC and earned three Emmy nominations,
00:39including a pair for Outstanding Children's Program.
00:41The show launched Actress Fry's career. She would go on to co-star in Sabrina the Teenage Witch
00:46and voice series including The Ren & Stimpy Show, Robot Chicken, and Bratz,
00:50while also guest starring in shows like Friends, Saved by the Bell, and the one producer Jason Goldberg.
00:55For Universal Content Productions, the new Punky Brewster is the studio's first half-hour
00:59and first multi-camera series that, should it be picked up, would join a slate that includes
