00:00You have so much pain in you.
00:02You.
00:03You.
00:05Somewhat rage.
00:08Marvel Studios just unveiled a moody and violent trailer for Echo,
00:13its first TVMA-rated show.
00:15The series also marks Marvel's first to debut simultaneously
00:18on both Disney Plus and its sister streaming service, Hulu.
00:30The show stars Aliqua Cox, reprising her Hawkeye role as Maya Lopez,
00:35a.k.a. Echo, an indigenous character who is deaf and communicates with ASL.
00:40You and I are the same.
00:46In some ways, Echo looks like a successor to Daredevil,
00:49the violent and beloved series that streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2019
00:53and was made by Marvel TV, not Marvel Studios.
00:56Both Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil,
00:58and Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, appear in the show.
01:01I see everything that you are.
01:07I always have.
01:09Last week, The Hollywood Reporter was among a group of press
01:11who previewed several scenes from Echo on the Disney lot.
01:14The studio's head of streaming, television, and animation,
01:16Brad Winderbaum, said at the time,
01:18It's a little on the grittier side for Marvel
01:20and shows the breadth of what Marvel is capable of.
01:23It is sort of a new direction for the brand, especially for Disney Plus.
