00:00Chief Jamie from California Post, what is your reaction to the chaos that transpired?
00:05Tuesday's police commission meeting.
00:08Frustration that is.
00:10It is something that we see sadly every Tuesday as well.
00:15As the city council deals with the situation that you became aware of this past Tuesday.
00:20The disruption we see, the vile conduct in there is very, very.
00:25Frustrating to anybody who attends it has a chilling effect on people from the community who want to come and be.
00:30Heard, they're afraid to come.
00:31They're intimidated by some of the agitators.
00:35So we show up every week at our meetings.
00:39The big.
00:40Frustration is not being able to do anything about it.
00:42It's, we're told by legal counsel that they're.
00:45Protected by the first amendment in their activities and are using that and explore.
00:50Exploiting that to their benefit, but at the expense of the residents of Los Angeles and the process.
00:55But we designed, the system was designed, the commission was in that, designed to provide civilian.
01:00Oversight for the police department that people from the community are fearful of coming forward.
01:05Because of the behavior at these meetings, then we're defeating our purpose.
01:09Thanks, Chief.
