00:00You are the main character in your home and the house is designed for you as that main character.
00:05You are the main character.
00:10So rule number one on colour, always be inspired by the earth.
00:15I think there is the tactility and kind of an earthiness that the earth comes with.
00:20That I always look to for a lot of my projects, so always looking out in nature.
00:25Of places that I've been to, or just London, you could do this.
00:30Same for your home by collecting images and just being really curious.
00:35As you move about in your day-to-day life.
00:36So whether that's looking up or looking around or going to.
00:40Specific places or going to galleries or art.
00:43I think that just kind of being.
00:45Really aware and I think London is a great place to garner inspiration.
00:50Because it's so beautiful and diverse and cultured.
00:55Rule number two, where possible, potentially work with local artisans or local makers.
01:00Within kind of the environment that you are doing your project in.
01:03So if it was a bedroom.
01:05I would probably try and source maybe like a local.
01:10Fabric holsterer or maker or local woodwork person.
01:14Just something really interesting.
01:15Within the local environment to kind of add that touch to your space.
01:19I think it makes for.
01:20Very unique and interesting end result.
01:22We did a project in Battersea.
01:25And my colleague had a book called My Colorful Home.
01:29And one of.
01:30The artists whose home was featured in the book.
01:33She lived in a really beautiful home.
01:35In the area ended up giving us an art piece for the Battersea project.
01:39That's a really nice story.
01:40How you can kind of involve the local community.
01:42Rule number three, try and infuse.
01:45Bring us art into your space.
01:46I think that you can work with a range of budgets.
01:49Again, you can.
01:50Of course, local makers, makers and artists.
01:53Art is very subjective.
01:54But also.
01:55Ultimately, it's about the kind of narrative around the design of the space.
02:00And kind of honouring that.
02:01And I also think it can really evoke emotion.
02:04So.
02:05If it was a home, maybe you want something that's a bit more subtle on arrival.
02:09But then it dull.
02:10As you move into the bedrooms.
02:12I think art has a beautiful way of.
02:15Just adding a layer into any environment.
02:20So.
