Marcos to PNP: Uphold discipline, professionalism, service

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reminds the Philippine National Police (PNP) to always uphold professionalism, discipline, and service to the people as he joins the 200,000-strong police force in marking the first PNP Day on Jan.29, 2026. In a video message, Marcos reiterated that he expected the organization which recognizes that 'peace and order remain fundamental for growth and public confidence.' The chief executive also recognized the hard work of the dedicated and outstanding officers and units who are set to receive awards for their exemplary performance. The president likewise reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upgrading police capabilities through better training, faster response systems, and accountability mechanisms 'that protect both the public and the honest police officer.'

00:05As you celebrate Philippine National Police Day, this occasion is.
00:10Just a reminder, why the PNP was organized in 1991.
00:15Implement the constitutional mandate that law enforcement must be under civilian authority.
00:20Since then, the work of the police has become more demanding.
00:25The Filipino people expect effectiveness, require our police to arrive and provide help.
00:30Quickly and demand respectful and competent law enforcers.
00:35Many have risen to the challenges of these demands.
00:37So on this PNP Day.
00:40We also recognize officers and units who have met these expectations.
00:45As well as the stakeholders who help the PNP in building and strengthening relations.

00:51The awards conferred today.
00:53Honor personnel who delivered.
00:55Results on the ground through effective operations.
00:58Improved service delivery.
01:00And leadership that raised standards within their units.

01:05Because they show that professionalism is built through daily decisions and authority.
