02:17growing number of Republicans are also criticizing the Trump administration's response to prejudice.
02:22Texas Senator Ted Cruz said on his podcast, the Trump administration,
02:27needs to improve, quote, the tone with which they're describing this.
02:32Escalating the rhetoric doesn't help, and it actually loses credibility.
02:37And so I would encourage the administration to be more measured, to recognize.
02:42The tragedy and to say we don't want anyone, anyone's lives to.
02:47And the politicians who are pouring gasoline.
02:52Onto this fire, they need to stop.
02:54Utah Senator John Curtis called out no.
02:57Noem directly saying in a social media post, I disagree with Secretary Noem's.
03:02Premature DHS response, which came before all the facts were known and weakened.
03:07Confidence Curtis says he wants to see a transparent, independent investigation of the.
03:12incident and is calling for accountability.
03:14North Carolina Senator Tom Tillis.
03:17Also weighed in, calling for an impartial investigation and accusing the administration.
03:22of trying to quote, shut down an investigation before it begins.
03:27We are now into day four of this massive winter storm and for a lot of the country.
03:32The worst of it is not just what fell from the sky, it's what's sticking around.
03:37The storm is now pushing out of the northeast, but bitter cold is settling in behind it with
03:41danger.
03:42duperous wind chills stretching from the Midwest to New England.
03:45More than a half a foot of snow.
03:47fell across a 1,300-mile swath of the country. In some places north of Pittsburgh,
03:52saw close to 20 inches. At least 30 people are now confirmed dead from hypothyroidism.
03:57Clothermia, crashes, snowplow accidents, even sledding mishaps. Millions
04:02are still digging out. In New Jersey, which is where you're looking at right now, neighborhoods like
04:07Montville are still buried. Others are sitting in the dark. Roughly half a million customers
04:12remain without power this morning, especially across parts of the south.
04:17Situations like this, ice-covered trees toppling power lines. In some places,
04:22help had to come from the National Guard, taking out a stranded bus, as you see here.
04:27Shovel at a time, just to get people moving again. But not everyone is miserable.
04:32In Texas, one family made the most of it. Whoa! Sledding through the fresh snow.
04:37with their two daughters after a rare winter blast in Denton. In New York City, lots of
04:42people there. Central Park turned into a playground. Kids sledding, families building forts.
04:47and tourists soaking in a snow day that the city has not seen in years. Even the animals.
04:52are getting in on it. A polar bear having a ball here at the Memphis Zoo. Rolling around in the snow.
