00:11Trump's warning comes after the Shiite Coordination Framework Coalition, which holds a majority in the nation's parliament,
00:19officially nominated al-Maliki as his candidate to lead the next government.
00:24According to analysts, Washington's main concern is al-Maliki's closeness to Iran.
00:28Iraq's parliament was scheduled to elect a new president on January 27,
00:33but the vote was postponed to allow for more consultations between the two Kurdish parties to agree on a candidate.
00:41The newly elected president will then task the Prime Ministerial nominee from the largest parliamentary bloc with forming a government within 15 days.
