00:18United said it plans to operate a record 750 daily departures from Chicago O'Hare this summer,
00:24nearly 170 more than a year earlier.
00:27The expansion follows comments from CEO Scott Kirby that United will add flights to prevent
00:33American Airlines from gaining additional gates in 2026.
00:37United said it plans nonstop service from O'Hare to 222 destinations in 2026,
00:44including 47 international and 175 domestic cities,
00:48while deepening its Midwest network and strengthening major business and coastal markets.
00:52The airline said it holds a wide lead over American and local and corporate market share at O'Hare
00:57and plans to hire 2,500 workers at the airport this year.
