02:10bombs and abilities uh same people really what's a bomb
02:16what you guys are bombing we're bombs yeah your bomb for the first time the celebrity recruits are
02:23from opposite sides of the world seven Australians and seven Brits if it's
02:29Australia versus England I reckon we've got a really strong team by the looks of like looking around the
02:36The Australian Special Forces have deep roots with the British Special Forces.
02:41We've done operational tours together, and we work side by side.
02:45They're big, they're strong, and they're mean business.
02:48So these Australian recruits have got a lot to live up to.
02:51The landscape is insane, hey?
02:53It's beautiful. It looks like Australia.
02:55I am best known for playing toadfish on neighbours for the last 30 years.
03:00This morning my body was in knots.
03:03Make sure you hit your mental headspace where it should be.
03:06But I feel good now, okay.
03:07And because of everything that I've gone through,
03:10I want to grab this and tear the balls off it, you know?
03:14Bro, what do you do?
03:16I do comedy content on social media.
03:19Comedy's going to be very valuable.
03:21He's very funny. Thank you, Graeme.
03:23I think this is probably going to be the toughest week of my life.
03:26My dad, he was actually in the military,
03:29so he will not be happy if I make excuses or I moan
03:34or I don't try 100%.
03:41Alliances are formed on the battlefield.
03:46We're going to put these celebrities through hell
03:49to see who stands up and who falls away.
03:52Oh, shit!
03:59Look behind.
04:01Oh, no, here we go.
04:03Oh, my God!
04:05Oh, my God!
04:07Oh, my God!
04:08Oh, my God!
04:09Oh, my God!
04:10Oh, my God!
04:11Oh, my God!
04:12Oh, my God!
04:13You're borrowing shit at us!
04:15Oh, my God!
04:16Alright!
04:17Alright!
04:18Alright!
04:19Alright!
04:20Help!
04:21Headstyle!
04:22Headstyle everywhere!
04:24Keep your mouth shut!
04:25Open your eyes.
04:26No look at me.
04:27When you get attacked by surprise,
04:29it is terrifying.
04:30Right here.
04:31On your knees!
04:32There is nothing more scary
04:33than seeing people around you getting shot.
04:35Get off there!
04:36Move!
04:37For us, the ambush is to make them realise
04:39that they have come out of their world
04:42and they have entered ours.
04:43hours. Don't look at me. We do get treated very well in our lives back home. What do you want on
04:49your rider? You know, would you like champagne and this and that? I have a feeling they're not
04:55going to give us that. Taking a wicket for your country against Australia is one of the best
05:01feelings. I can't even describe how amazing that makes you feel. I'm not sure if I'm built
05:06physically for the SAS, but mentally I'm keen to find out whether my mind is right.
05:13Lance together, move. Operator behind the enemy lines is petrifying. Keep holding the shoulders
05:19of the person in front. Everyone is out to get you or kill you. Keep very still. Don't move.
05:33Look at all. This is like a rhinoceros.
05:45Who are you? Cole Anderson. What do you do, Cole? Just do like social media and stuff.
05:57Tiki-tok, Waller. Yeah. Yeah. Have you ever thought about getting a real job? No. Well,
06:03maybe you should. Get your hands down, Muppet. Yikes. I'm completely out of my comfort zone
06:11here. In fact, you look better that way. Keep it like that. I just hope that I can stop
06:16listening to the voices in my head and just get to the end because I would be so proud
06:20of myself. Stop blinking at me, weirdo. My belief in myself is, you know, pretty damn
06:28high. Keep looking that way. I absolutely want to pass this course. I'm going to pass this
06:33course. Yikes. Who are you? Brad Hodge. You had to think about it, didn't you, Brad? What
06:40do you do, Brad? Past professional cricket player. A cricket player? Wow. Who are you?
06:47Jessica Bauer. Don't fucking smile at me. I'm best known for stealing someone's husband
06:52on Married at First Sight. Husband Stealer. Look up. But I want to prove to the public that
07:01I'm not this, you know, reality bitch. You're fucking hideous. Take this smile off your face.
07:10I was part of the 2003 Rugby World Cup team that won the World Cup, which does seem a different
07:16lifetime ago. Tough guy. Not really. Get your head up. Facing the Aussies, he's going to
07:21be very interested. They might want to get the record straight, 22 years of hurt.
07:29Oh dear. Who are you? Mack Horton. What do you do, Mack? Over the...
07:35Swimmer. Swimmer. You're fucking swimming. You look like you've just got out the pool.
07:38I think I'm most scared of the unknown. Is that hard work? It's warm. I've swum for 17
07:46years. I've won Olympic gold. But that's all something that you can train for. I've never
07:51been tested like this. You will address us at all times from now on as staff. Do you understand
07:59that? Yes, sir. We have shared blood, sweat and tears for our country. So pathetic people
08:09like you can have your life. SAS selection is the toughest military test in the world.
08:16It takes the 1% of the best 1% to create a special forces operator. You, the English from the beautiful
08:25motherland. And you, the Australians, the colonials from down under. You're going to get a real
08:34sample of our world. The Aussies call us whinging poms, and we call them prisoners of mother England.
08:41Do you understand? Yes, sir!
08:43We'll now find out we're the greater nation. Walk forward to the railings.
08:49Please. The first task of selection is an emergency evacuation drill in a life-threatening scenario.
09:08Pay attention to what's going on, because obviously you fuckers are going to be doing it in a minute.
09:13Lowered from a height of 260 feet, the recruits will be harnessed in pairs into the plane's fuselage.
09:28Once fully submerged, they must hold their breath for 30 seconds and remain seated until the time is up.
09:40The recruits must exit through the rear side door in an agreed order to pass the task.
09:47The possibility of drowning is a real risk in the special forces. It's absolutely terrifying.
09:56Every part of their body will want to eject themselves out of that seat and get out of that situation.
10:02It's paramount that they are still composed and work as a team.
10:12You go in that seat over there. You go in this seat here.
10:15The first recruits to face the dunk are Olympic swimming champion, Mack, and TV personality, Gabby.
10:23I think people are going to be really surprised when they see me on the selection because they know me as Gabby from Love Island,
10:29who just sits there in a bikini talking about feelings all day.
10:32Keep the composure. Keep talking.
10:34I'm going to show them a very different side to me.
10:37It was like this.
10:40If I fail in a water task, I will be disappointed.
10:45My reputation hangs on it. I might regret saying that.
10:50I'm petrified water.
10:52Just control yourself. That's no big deal.
10:55Last breath.
11:23Whoa. There's a panic. She's panicking.
11:26Just stay calm.
11:39In a special forces survival drill, recruits Mack and Gabby must hold their breath underwater for 30 seconds until given the signal to escape.
11:50She's panicking.
11:57Having been unable to hold her breath.
12:01Fucked it.
12:02Go.
12:03OK, OK.
12:04Gabby has failed the task.
12:06Go.
12:07Go.
12:08Fail!
12:09Confirmed fail. She panicked and had to be pulled out for the window.
12:13Yeah, OK.
12:14Roger that.
12:15I weren't scared about the height.
12:16I weren't scared about the water.
12:17And then I fucking didn't take in big enough breath.
12:20What the fuck?
12:24Probably better to be a little bit thirsty as opposed to having a full belt.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Yeah.
12:29Holy shit.
12:30The next pair of recruits to take on the task is actor Natalie and social media personality Jack.
12:37Relax!
12:38If you can't swim, you're pretty fucked on this.
12:43I don't think being in the military was ever an option for me.
12:49I am scared of everything.
12:52Flying, confrontation, large crowds, claustrophobia, bugs, insects, spiders.
12:59Remain in the position till you get the squeeze.
13:04Once that fear kicks in, it's too late.
13:08That's good. Stay relaxed.
13:22Yes!
13:23No, Ricky!
13:24Louder.
13:25Louder.
13:26Pass!
13:27I'm so happy.
13:32Unbelievable.
13:33Fuck off.
13:34Not you.
13:35It's okay.
13:36Breathing in.
13:37Don't punch.
13:38You're chill.
13:39I'm not chill.
13:40I've been involved in helicopterc touches.
13:41I've been involved in helicoptercodes for the last two weeks.
13:43She's been shot across the country and said, let's take a seat to the right.
13:44Jack.
13:45Yes.
13:46Yeah.
13:47I've been involved in helicoptercodes all the time.
13:48Yes.
13:49Speaker.
13:50Yes?
13:51No, Ricky.
13:52No, Ricky.
13:53Louder.
13:54Louder.
13:55Laura.
13:56Pass.
13:57Pass!
13:58In.
13:59I'm so happy.
14:00Unbelievable.
14:01I've been involved in helicopter crashes.
14:06It is an absolutely horrific experience.
14:11A crashing into water, if you survive the crash,
14:13you're then in an environment that wants to do something
14:15because you are going to die.
14:19Your lungs are screaming, and then you can feel the emotion
14:22almost flood your system.
14:27And yet, panic is the thing that will kill you.
14:31You have to be able to calm down
14:45and then think logically about what you've got to do.
14:49You then go through a process of getting yourself out of it.
14:52Emily, OK?
14:58Good pass!
15:00Confirmed. That's a pass.
15:01Yeah, roger that.
15:06With only two pairs of recruits having passed the task...
15:10My biggest fear is water.
15:11Fucking dial in.
15:13Do what you're meant to do.
15:16Come over to me.
15:17You all right?
15:18No, I'm petrified.
15:19Physically, I've got this.
15:20Mentally is what I'll struggle with.
15:21My brain attacks me all the bloody time.
15:22I really want to cry, but I don't want to cry.
15:23I just want to believe in myself a little bit more
15:24and stop being a negative Nancy.
15:26We're gonna breathe out.
15:27Get rid of all that carbon dioxide.
15:28I would describe myself as pretty full on.
15:30Here we go.
15:31I can lose my temper quickly.
15:32Yeah, I can get quite frustrated.
15:33We are strong.
15:34We are calm.
15:35I'm shaking.
15:36The thing that I struggle the most is
15:37if people don't take it serious enough
15:38and go hard enough.
15:39I'm so scared.
15:53There's every chance I'll tell them to pull their fucking finger out.
15:59Yeah.
16:00Hold the crap around الص Not nothing.
16:04Fucking concentrate and switch on.
16:07Fucking hell.
16:09Remain composed.
16:12Focus on what you're doing.
16:15We are strong and we are calm.
16:17We're going to take a deep breath
16:19and we're going to be fine.
16:21We're going to both undo.
16:23I will go first.
16:34Did someone just come out already?
16:49I'm sorry.
16:51Both of them failed.
16:55Pathetic.
16:57You should probably panic just like I did.
16:59Catastrophic fail!
17:04That was a dire effort, wasn't it?
17:08Why did you panic?
17:09As soon as the water hit me, I was like, I can't do it.
17:12I expected more from you.
17:14Toadfish.
17:16Making made for this, ain't ya?
17:18Yes, sir.
17:19Embarrassing.
17:24There were only two passes out of all of you there
17:27and the rest of them were fails.
17:29Some of them catastrophic.
17:32So let's start switching on,
17:34taking on board the information and applying it.
17:37Is that understood?
17:39Yes, sir.
17:40First vehicle.
17:41Quickly, let's go.
17:42Hooray!
17:47What a shit shell.
17:51I don't know how long it will last for me.
17:56That was hard.
17:57Yeah.
17:58No.
17:59Instantly I failed.
18:00It's pathetic.
18:11This way.
18:12In and around, between the chains.
18:16The recruits have been brought to a remote desert fort
18:19where temperatures can reach over 40 degrees.
18:22English this side.
18:24Aussies that side.
18:25It will be their home for the remainder of the course.
18:28Right now, you will become a number.
18:32Do you understand that?
18:33Yes, sir.
18:34The desert is a brutal environment.
18:37It just makes life almost unbearable.
18:41Strip out of that civilian kit.
18:43Let's go.
18:44Hurry up.
18:45No reason to be shy.
18:48From the minute you get up to the minute you are able to go back to sleep,
18:51the heat just hits you.
18:52It drains you of energy.
18:54It feels like you're being suffocated by the country.
18:57Upside down.
18:59Fucking buffoon.
19:00You're susceptible to heat injuries.
19:03Whether that's dehydration, heat stroke, exposure, whatever.
19:07Let's go.
19:08Let's go quickly.
19:09Don't be laughed.
19:11If you do not conduct yourself in the right way, it will kill you.
19:15They're going to wish they're fucking somewhere else.
19:18Right.
19:19This is your accommodation.
19:20Underneath that camouflage net over there, that is water.
19:23That will be continuously topped up.
19:25The one thing I say about your water bottles,
19:27they will always be topped up to the brim.
19:32And I mean the brim.
19:33OK?
19:34Yes, Daph.
19:35Right, fucking cheer up.
19:36If you look like you're having a good time, you will have a good time,
19:38even if we're a bunch of fuckers.
19:40Yeah?
19:44This is absolutely nuts, innit?
19:46Yeah.
19:47Dabs, will you do my water bottle when you're ready?
19:49Yeah.
19:50Sorry, I'm being fit.
19:54Just make sure you're refilling, eh?
19:55Yeah, yeah.
19:56Yeah, yeah.
19:59Hey, guys.
20:00Can I grab everyone's attention?
20:01So, if you look on the bag here, you've got these clips here.
20:06So, if you do them up and you tighten them right down,
20:09you'll have less jingle jangle.
20:14Yeah?
20:15Yeah.
20:16Alright, cool.
20:17Happy days.
20:18He's pretty serious, isn't he?
20:19Yeah.
20:22Huh?
20:23I was going to say that to you the entire day.
20:28Anybody stands out?
20:29Yeah, number 12, Ryan Maloney.
20:31He's so keen and wants to make a good impression that he's overdoing it.
20:35Yeah.
20:36Probably number four, because she's just like, nah.
20:39She's a little bit sort of underconfident.
20:41She's not physically imposing.
20:43Like, five's the same size, but five's actually fit,
20:46whereas four's a little bit fragile.
20:48I think three.
20:49I've been a bit of a dope, just not listening properly.
20:52And number one.
20:53He's a bit twitchy, isn't he?
20:55He's like...
20:56I think 12's going to get roasted.
20:59You know, like when you're in the old dorms on selection,
21:01there's always some knobber who thinks he knows better,
21:04knows it all, and then by day two, he goes,
21:06right, where did he go?
21:08Telling you what you should have in your burger.
21:10That's right.
21:12Recruit 12!
21:15Coming.
21:16Oh my god, Ryan.
21:17Fucking knew it.
21:20Double time, 12.
21:25Concerned about his character,
21:27the DS want to learn more about number 12, Ryan.
21:38How's it going in there?
21:41It's good, actually.
21:42I'm going through periods of, you know, fear and kind of going up and down and throwing myself into it as best as I can and learning the rules first.
21:55The challenge is to get the shit out of me.
22:00So where did you grow up?
22:02In Melbourne, yeah.
22:05What was growing up like?
22:06Yeah, growing up it was interesting, you know, a pretty shit agro childhood but, you know, it's kind of the way it is.
22:17So we'll just leave it at that.
22:20But, you know, got a gig on Neighbours at 15 years old and I kind of stayed there for 30 years.
22:25That's a fucking long time to be someone else.
22:29Yeah.
22:31How do you think that's shaped you?
22:34It's a very hectic time when you go to work and you're in this headspace for 12 hours and then you go home and you try to do family life.
22:44And then you learn your lines for the next day.
22:47So you're right there.
22:48So you don't really get a break from it.
22:50But for a very, very long time, I've been pushing myself to kind of go, oh, so there's neighbours, but I've got to have something else.
22:58So you sell and buy properties and build farms and build houses and, you know, building places is one of the most stressful things you can ever fucking do.
23:05And kind of constantly moving family around and just the ultimate stress after stress after stress after stress.
23:13Just hadn't really had a break.
23:16So that's pedal, pedal, pedal, pedal.
23:18And nothing's ever good enough.
23:19So.
23:32Just kind of found myself.
23:40Sorry.
23:42I wasn't expecting this to come out.
23:44I apologise.
23:46Found myself standing in a paddock going, if this is it, I don't want, I don't want to do it anymore.
23:54And, uh, and then it was okay.
24:00All right.
24:01Well, that's not the answer.
24:03I need to work out what's going on with my head.
24:07And then I was diagnosed with ADHD.
24:10Was it the, um, the diagnosis that, that's helped you?
24:15Once I kind of got that diagnosis, it was like, that's the best fucking news I've ever heard.
24:20Because now I understand why my brain does what it does.
24:27Because now I, now I get why I see things very differently.
24:31So what, what are you hoping to get from this?
24:36You know what? I actually don't know.
24:38I don't know what this is going to bring out.
24:39I don't know.
24:40Like I didn't fucking know that that was going to come out.
24:42So.
24:44I just, I just want to find out.
24:46Well, you look strong.
24:47I'm excited to see how far you'll go on the course.
24:49It's going to be difficult though.
24:52Stick with it.
24:53Roger that.
24:56God.
25:05No one's unbreakable.
25:06I've broken many times.
25:08You got to break to, to get stronger.
25:14Before I got diagnosed with ADHD, there was a lot of pressure and stress on life.
25:18Just that constant feeling of, of being lost.
25:22I could see you're in the zone.
25:24Ah, no.
25:25It was just like, wasn't expecting that to come out.
25:29It's incredibly important to be able to understand what's actually going on in your brain.
25:35When you feel like you want to quit on life, don't.
25:38Just find an answer.
25:40If that's not the one, find another one.
25:43And don't quit.
25:45No, we're good.
25:47We're good.
25:48You sure?
25:49Yeah.
25:51Do you want to sit over there and just chill, be quiet?
25:52Good.
25:53I'm here, mate, if you need it.
26:01Oh my God, what is that?
26:03Are you okay?
26:05Is it dangerous?
26:06Yeah, it bites.
26:07Yeah.
26:08Home run.
26:09Bang!
26:10I think you got it.
26:11Nice.
26:12I did get it.
26:13Oh, it's five minutes.
26:14Full kit.
26:17Come on, there we are.
26:18Has everyone got a full water bottle?
26:21Quickly.
26:22Quickly.
26:23What do you like being called?
26:24Ryan.
26:25Ryan, good.
26:26Yeah.
26:27I didn't want to start saying fucking toady because I'm so used to seeing you on the telly.
26:30That's right, man.
26:33You still don't like being back at school, innit?
26:35It is, yeah.
26:36Like a teacher's shot, innit?
26:37Yeah.
26:38I quite like you, though.
26:39It's fun.
26:40I'd say there's definitely mistakes I've made throughout my life and because of this.
26:45I've kind of been living way too much in my comfort zone.
26:50Those bags are everything.
26:51They are so heavy.
26:52I'm hoping that I can overcome those fears.
26:57I need a big challenge.
26:59If I manage to get through this, I think it would help a lot.
27:05Close the guards!
27:06The next task will subject the recruits to one of selection's most brutal rituals.
27:15Everything you do in the Special Forces world is preparing you for combat.
27:20Fall in right there facing me.
27:22It's absolutely horrendous physically and mentally.
27:27Some will crumble, some will shine.
27:32Turn around.
27:37It's pretty well fucking known.
27:39There's always rivalry between the English and the Australians.
27:44In the Special Forces world, we have to work together closely.
27:48Now and again, there's resentment that is soon put to bed.
27:53And we have a method of doing that.
27:55It's called milling.
27:57We fight and we use sheer violence and aggression.
28:02You're not just fighting for you.
28:04You're fighting for your nation.
28:09Right, listen in.
28:10Number 12.
28:13Toward fish.
28:14Get over here.
28:15I take my comforts out.
28:16First to fight is recruit number 12, Ryan.
28:21Number one.
28:22One, on me.
28:24His opponent is number one, social media personality, Cole.
28:29I stay fit by going to the gym maybe four or five days a week.
28:34Yeah, I think I can protect myself in a fight.
28:37I can be pretty aggressive.
28:39If that's the game, then that's what we're doing.
28:41What are you going to do?
28:43I'm going to rip your head off.
28:44Not a fucking chance.
28:45And if the rules are you've got to smash him, well then giddy up.
28:51It was simple.
28:52I will say fight and you will fight.
28:54And if I say stop, you will stop.
28:57Fight!
28:58Let's go, one.
28:59Big right hand, one.
29:01Yes, Cole.
29:02Keep touching.
29:03Yes, Cole.
29:04Don't go.
29:05Get your space.
29:06Get your space, one.
29:07Go, Ryza.
29:08Go, Ryza.
29:11That's it, one!
29:12That's it, one!
29:17Big right hand, one!
29:20Give him the good news!
29:21Ah!
29:22Ah!
29:24Ah!
29:26Ah, tripped!
29:27Ah, my knee!
29:28My knee popped out.
29:30Ah!
29:31Shit!
29:32What's he done?
29:33His fucking knee popped out.
29:34No, it ain't.
29:35All right, let's get up.
29:36Ah, shit!
29:37Can you get up?
29:38Yeah.
29:39All right, let's get up then.
29:40There's nothing.
29:41He told me a new one.
29:45Well done, Ryza.
29:46Great work.
29:49Number 13.
29:50Fuck.
29:51Next up, number 13, Natalie.
29:54Holy shitballs.
29:56I think fighting is for morons, really.
30:00I don't understand it.
30:01Number five.
30:02Five, over here!
30:04She's up against number five,
30:06TV personality and fitness expert, Gabby.
30:11I'm the strongest I've ever been now.
30:13I'm ready.
30:14She's ready.
30:15Are you fucking ready?
30:16Yeah.
30:17You sure about that?
30:18Yeah.
30:19I don't give up very easily.
30:20I am a juror cell bunny.
30:21Fight!
30:22More!
30:23Straight up the center, five!
30:25Come on!
30:26Keep banging to the head!
30:27Keep going!
30:28Keep punching!
30:29Punch!
30:31Come on, hands up!
30:34Go Gabby, go Gabby.
30:36That's it, fire!
30:37Keep going!
30:38Go Nat.
30:39Go Nat!
30:40Yeah!
30:41Go Nat!
30:42Keep banging to the head!
30:46That's it!
30:47Big right here!
30:48Stop!
30:53Yeah, five for the win.
30:54I feel sick.
30:55With me!
30:56Let's go!
30:57Let's go, 13!
30:58I feel so bad.
30:59I feel sick.
31:00Feel sick.
31:01You're so sick.
31:02You do that.
31:03Violence in a real combat situation, you have to deal with it.
31:08You're not busy.
31:09I feel sick.
31:10I feel sick.
31:11I feel sick.
31:12I feel sick.
31:13Violence in a real combat situation, you have to deal with it.
31:19It's brutal, but it's necessary.
31:22If you don't kill the enemy, then you are going to die.
31:26I feel sick.
31:28If you think you're going to be sick, just go down.
31:31So what are you going to do to him?
31:32I'm going to bathroom stuff.
31:33What do you think about that?
31:34I'll give a bathroom stuff.
31:35Want to call her names?
31:36Yeah.
31:37Yeah.
31:38What are you going to do to him?
31:39Nothing.
31:40What's that?
31:41I'm going to knock you the fuck out.
31:42This fucking guy can't.
31:43You're going to fucking get it.
31:44When you are stood facing the opponent, the enemy, the only thing going through your mind
31:50is to win.
31:51That's it!
31:52Six, big right here!
31:53Drop it!
31:54Every ounce of energy has got to go into the fight.
32:00Fear is natural, but if you lose control of it, you'll get hurt.
32:06It's the ultimate gladiator moment.
32:08Let's go!
32:09Let's go!
32:10It's about who can go that little bit further to win.
32:15Let's go, Seven!
32:16Back and axle, let it rip!
32:19Stop!
32:20Look at how I'm really bleeding.
32:29Number three.
32:30Three on me.
32:31With the points split evenly between the nations, the last to fight for the British.
32:36You got your gum shield?
32:37I'm filled in, yeah.
32:38Okay, good to go.
32:39Is recruit number three, Jack.
32:41Me and my dad have been training, and when I stopped for a breather, he just says, you
32:48know, stop being lazy, fucking get on with it.
32:50Alright, stand by.
32:51So, as long as I try 100%, he'll be happy.
32:54You know what you need to do.
32:56But if the DS puts me up against a woman, oh, I don't think I could do that.
33:02That's mentally tricky.
33:04For ten.
33:05His opponent is number ten, Australian Olympic swimming champion, Emily.
33:11Comfortable?
33:12Mm-hmm.
33:13I think being an athlete is winning, and you want to win every single time you get in
33:18the pool.
33:19If you didn't want to win, you wouldn't want to be there.
33:20It's not boxing.
33:21Don't let them get the punches off first.
33:23I grew up with three brothers.
33:24I think I can give as good as I can take.
33:27What are you going to do to him?
33:29Hit him hard.
33:31Two words of command.
33:33Fight and stop.
33:35Stand.
33:36Gloves up.
33:37Step back.
33:41Fight!
33:42Let's go three!
33:49Stop!
33:50Go on.
33:51Go on.
33:52Come on.
33:54Get up.
33:56Get up.
33:57Look at me.
33:58You okay?
34:03Gloves up.
34:05Stop!
34:06Stop!
34:09What did I say?
34:10I thought you said start, start.
34:11Start, start.
34:12What did I say?
34:13Stop.
34:14There's only two commands.
34:16Did anybody hear me say start?
34:17No, sir.
34:18Right, because of that, it's a draw.
34:21Back over there.
34:22I can't pass.
34:23That was horrible.
34:24You had to do it.
34:26That was horrible.
34:27You had to do it.
34:28Tick.
34:2950 before 50.
34:30Get beaten the shit out of.
34:31Awesome.
34:32Obviously, like...
34:33Don't worry.
34:34You were fucking punched like a beast.
34:35You're all right, Jack.
34:36You're upset, aren't you?
34:37Yeah.
34:38Yeah.
34:39Yeah.
34:40Yeah.
34:41Yeah.
34:42beating the shit out of awesome obviously like don't worry you're fucking punched like a beast
34:51you're all right jack you're upset ain't you you're sorry sorry how about you
34:58i didn't try and go like my heart no i don't think you did but when i went like that
35:03i was like oh yeah i didn't really because i thought she was an olympian yeah yeah imagine
35:09you wait and then she was off the coast then i'd get it but she's fine
35:17has everyone got full water bottles and shit hey can i also suggest because it's a
35:23to fill these up all the time that we just keep them filled up and if we're thirsty in
35:27here we just use our mugs so much easier
35:30okay so day one milling the aussies verse the english chief instructor billy and his ds
35:47have gathered to assess their new recruits number one and number twelve one and twelve yeah one was
35:55mr freaking sugar ray leonard i mean he was all about it you know before the punches started
36:00when 12 was started banging his gloves together what was like what's going on anyway the next
36:08bout was number five 13 and number 13 i turned into a bit of a disaster number 13 she took two or three
36:16punches and stomach and then went into fucking thunderbirds puppet with the strings cut and that
36:21was a win for number five the final fight was number three and ten number ten man v one he was
36:29obviously better but then the way he conducted himself at the end yeah but i wasn't willing to
36:35give him a win no and that was a good call mate good call mate and if you can't control yourself and
36:41fucking see red mist which is what he did he's a liability anyway i think it might be worth having a
36:49look at number three yeah i agree number three oh i'm not they're gonna shout at me for not being ready
36:59you're 30 seconds i'll come with you come on now i'll go i'll go i'll go i'll go
37:04done
37:07uh sure you're appropriately dressed number three come here having shown a lack of discipline in the
37:16previous task the ds want to find out more about number three jack
37:30adopt a normal breathing pattern you sound out of breath
37:33are you nervous yes sir how's it going in there it's been really hard i'm really not a fan of heights and
37:47the milling just absolutely sent my head into a spiral why i said before i came on here if i had to
37:55fight a girl that might be one thing that makes me quit and uh you did the complete opposite i know i
38:03did and and i felt guilty i felt stupid because i obviously didn't pay attention to the instructions
38:09and i think that's one thing i've noticed is that i'm not great at listening it seems with the milling
38:15we are we we put you in that situation you had to deal with it yes sir so just take us right back to
38:21start how was your upbringing um parents were super supportive of everything i did so i'd say yeah
38:29my childhood was fairly privileged in that sense what was school like um i did fairly well in school
38:38a bit of a goody two-shoes to be honest but after college it wasn't quite the same um why not
38:44uh my dad he's ex-military so as you can imagine he's very much play it by the rules don't try the
38:52fast way forward slow and consistent but i was young naive and i didn't pay attention i was very fit
39:01you know super lean fairly muscly um people in my family are bodybuilders natural bodybuilders
39:08my dad's super into it and uh i went to a bodybuilding gym and uh i heard hear a lot of talk of this
39:15supplement which is like a legal steroid um so i bought this supplement from a website and yeah after
39:25six weeks uh i had liver failure how the fucking liver how i went all yellow uh pupils all yellow my brain
39:37completely just went south um it's a it's a hard thing to describe um i had to go into hospital
39:47every day for about nine ten months to give blood every day and i had to be under supervision
39:55so the way you pass away with liver failure is i was told that you just go to bed at night
40:01and you don't wake up and uh uh it was hard because every night every single hour my parents
40:10came in my room to check if i was dead basically and it broke that broke my heart
40:21do you find yourself beating yourself up about this yeah you can see that
40:26it's hard to see your parents with that kind of emotional weight when you know you've caused it
40:37does it still have an impact yeah i mean since then i'm i'm quite an anxious person
40:43uh and that's kind of why i came on this course i hide my emotions a lot even my parents my friends
40:51they don't really see it how does your father feel about you his son who obviously nearly killed
40:58himself coming onto an extremely challenging course they'll probably piss him off if i quit
41:05that is one thing that's kind of keeping me here to be honest so this is kind of like a personal
41:11thing for me what matters is what's in your heart what's in your head yes sir god
41:21so
41:28walk in a really really strange way i'm glad it happened to me before that i was under the
41:36impression i was invincible and nothing could hurt me i could do anything and it'll go right
41:41but when you're hit with you might die at 19 you realize that anything could happen
41:48that's done all right you got a lot to give all right a lot to learn it's tough
41:54stick with it go get it thanks you've really got to respect and appreciate this life you're given
41:59and not take it for granted because it could be taken at any moment
42:05i've got a fucked up story yeah it'll blow your mind okay
42:13uh once i was having sex and i shot on the guy's nuts by accident
42:21i shot on his nuts shout on his nuts it's like super it stinks in here
42:34what can you do get to the shower now
42:38okay does anybody know what the time is it is nine oh eight can i suggest you take this time to

43:48being in the special forces is all about doing the basics to a very high standard when we say to
44:04the brim we mean to the brim because that fucking millimeter counts is that clear yes we're living in
44:11the desert it's fucking hot it's about having the self-discipline to adhere to the minutest of
44:18details let's go 20 burpees pays to be a winner let's go as soon as you're done straight over
44:24to the water tank it proves that you are someone that doesn't cut corners come to the water tank
44:32it proves that you are someone that doesn't cut corners fast as you can
44:39because on the battlefield you'll get killed we can't afford those sort of people to be in our units
