00:00The head of the Metropolitan Police Federation, Richard Pryor, was suspended from his role after the Federation received complaints that his comments during a GB News interview could be construed as discriminatory and he was told not to speak to the press about the suspension or the allegations.
00:19He said during the interview, there seems to be an assumption of racism right from the off, particularly when it's a white police officer and a member of the public from a minority ethnic community.
00:31He then added, it almost seems as if the onus is then on the police officer to prove that the interaction wasn't racist.
00:38He was then removed permanently after giving further interviews to GB News and the Telegraph newspaper in March last year, but this decision was later withdrawn.
00:49In a judgment on Monday, Miss Justice Obie said decisions had been made outside the powers given to the Federation.
00:57A spokesperson for the Federation said, we consider this judgment to be flawed and will appeal.
01:02They added, this case is about process, not about the substance of the complaints or whether or not we were right to take action.
01:10We acted following multiple serious complaints about behaviour that was found by an independent panel to fall below the standards set out in our statutory rules.
01:21The spokesperson went on to say, we were right to act and it is vital that we continue to stand up for victims and challenge poor behaviour.
01:28We are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act.
01:38We are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act.
01:40We are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act.
01:42We are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act and we are right to act.
