00:30...between two teams of three Wardens each.
00:33To start, each team chooses a unique base to defend.
00:36This is your main stronghold, while you ride out to fight in the open territory to secure the Shieldbreaker.
00:42The ultimate goal of the match is to use the Shieldbreaker to successfully raid and destroy the enemy team's base before they can destroy yours.
00:52Each Warden is built specifically for High Guard's PvP raid mode.
01:02They combine tactical skill with powerful magic.
01:06You'll have your choice of characters with unique abilities designed around destruction, infiltration...
01:11...hiding in plain sight...
01:13...and resource acquisition.
01:15Some Vesper to mine here.
01:17The magical abilities of our Wardens supplement combat.
01:21I swore forms, my friends.
01:22But we're still a gun game at our core.
01:24You've got your team of Wardens, now it's time to choose your base.
01:31Prior to venturing into High Guard, you'll be randomly presented with four options for your home base.
01:37Your team will vote on which one feels like the best fit for you.
01:40The enemy team gets the same four choices.
01:42Each base is the size of a classic small team deathmatch map.
01:49They all have different layouts and visual styles.
01:52But most importantly, distinct attack and defensive strengths and weaknesses depend on your playstyle.
02:01Once you've selected your Warden and your base, you spawn in.
02:06You have one minute to plan your defenses and pick your starting loadout.
02:10Every Warden can use any weapon.
02:14Select your primary, secondary, and your raid tool.
02:19You can change your loadout at the beginning of every match.
02:22Each player also starts with five wall reinforcements, which they can use to armor up different areas of their base.
02:29Once the defensive phase is up, your base unlocks and your team mounts up and rides out.
02:34Time to ride!
02:37Teams are fighting for control of the Shieldbreaker.
02:40Which is the key to starting a raid on the other team.
02:43But the Shieldbreaker takes a few minutes to form.
02:46During this time, players should explore different points of interest and loot better gear.
02:50You can find upgraded guns.
02:52Found a saber rifle.
02:54Armor.
02:55Better saddles.
02:56And magical amulets that are imbued with perks.
02:59Weapon chest here.
03:00But stay alert.
03:01The other team is doing the same.
03:03So skirmishes are inevitable.
03:05Enemy here.
03:06Everyone with me.
03:07Let's go.
03:10Stick together as a team to have strength in numbers.
03:12Or take a chance and split up to get more loot for yourself.
03:16Everyone just remember where you came from.
03:19Also around the map are crystal formations called Vesper.
03:23Vesper to mine over here.
03:25Use your Warden's Axe to mine this valuable resource.
03:30You also get Vesper from kills.
03:33Quick, swift, clean, and done.
03:36And from successfully attacking or defending a raid.
03:39I'm defusing the bomb.
03:41Watch my back.
03:41Copy that.
03:42If you're not having luck finding the loot you need, Trader Flynn is a great way to supplement your equipment.
03:48Whatever you need, I've got it.
03:51He can be found in your base or out in the open world.
03:54He will happily sell you better armor, guns, and gear.
03:59Appreciate the kindness.
04:00So hunt down or purchase the best loot possible and win those skirmishes.
04:05I don't start fights.
04:07I end them.
04:13During the gear up phase, always make sure you're keeping one eye on the sky.
04:17Storm's brewing and Shieldbreaker should be ready soon.
04:20When the storm forms, the Shieldbreaker's location is revealed.
04:25It randomly spawns in one of three unique points of interest.
04:29Once that Shieldbreaker forms, nothing else matters.
04:33Rally up and fight for possession.
04:36If your team manages to secure the Shieldbreaker, your objective is to get to the enemy base and start the raid.
04:43But the enemy team will do everything in their power to stop you from getting to their base.
04:47Gang, time to attack.
04:50If you die, you'll drop the Shieldbreaker, and the enemy team can pick it up.
04:58Let's mount up and soar to victory.
05:00And run it to your base and start their own raid.
05:03Once you get to the enemy base, plant the Shieldbreaker and start the raid.
05:10The raid begins with the summoning of your siege tower that will break through the enemy's outer shield
05:14and become your spawn point during the raid.
05:17We're getting raided.
05:18Jumping back to defend.
05:19The defending team will be able to teleport back to their base, so be ready to fight.
05:25You better be ready!
05:26Once the shield has been broken, the raid begins.
05:30The enemy base contains objectives your team will need to sabotage and destroy.
05:34But in order to successfully penetrate a well-defended base, you'll need to use your warden's abilities and your raid tool.
05:41Every warden comes equipped with one raid tool of their choice.
05:44You can choose between a rocket launcher for a more straightforward approach, a zipline gun for when your attack plan requires coming in from above,
05:52or a blast hammer when you just want to bring it all down.
05:57Different tools are more effective for different bases.
06:05Once inside the base, your objective is to sabotage enemy generators.
06:09Let's blow this place sky-high!
06:10Once the bomb is planted, you'll need to hold the objective while the enemy team tries to flush you out and disarm the charge.
06:20Each base has two generators and an anchor stone.
06:25If a generator is successfully destroyed, it does 35 damage to the enemy base.
06:30If you can get to the anchor stone, which is harder to assault, more heavily reinforced, and has a longer countdown,
06:38it completely destroys the enemy base, ending the match in victory.
06:42Getting the enemy base to zero health is how you win the game.
06:48This often ends in a generator blowing up, but not always.
06:52There are other ways to do damage to the enemy base.
06:55For example, planting a shield breaker and starting a raid will damage the base.
07:00And it's not just about attacking.
07:02Successfully defending your own base will damage the attacking team's base, so you can win with a great defense.
07:08If a raid is successfully defended, the game is not over.
07:13Damage is done to your base, and that base health does not regenerate.
07:17Players will respawn at their base and ride out for another gear up phase.
07:23As the match progresses, all the loot in the map upgrades.
07:29The weapons get stronger, the armor and equipment improves, and the stakes get higher.
07:35A match can go anywhere from one raid to four, which means matches can last anywhere from eight minutes to around 30 minutes, if the teams are really trading raids.
07:45Back in the fight!
07:46Winning a match will often come down to a clutch bomb plant with a few seconds left on the clock.
07:51Someone call for a demolition man!
07:54Bomb planted!
07:55Or a tight teamfight with mobility, positioning, and shooting skills out in the open world.
08:08So that's High Guard.
08:09We're excited for you to try our unique take on this new PvP raid shooter.
08:14All you need to know at first is loot up, grab the Shieldbreaker, and raid the enemy base.
08:22And stick together.
08:23This is a team game.
08:26There's lots more to unpack as you start going deeper, but for now, assemble your wardens,
08:32and we'll see you in High Guard.
