00:06the thing that stands out to me the most just about this game not about this season but about
00:11this game is that you can still win really important football games in the month of January
00:20not based on your roster and not based on the talent you've got but based on winning on the
00:29margins and winning with coaching which I think is becoming increasingly rare in the NFL and it's
00:38something that I think we watched for a lot of years with Bill Belichick with a lot of his in-game
00:42situational football brilliance that has become less a part of the NFL right it's become arena
00:50football in a lot of ways where the ball is getting chucked all over the yard and yesterday you saw
00:57a grind of a football game that was not an enjoyable watch it wasn't the enjoyable thing
01:05was the result in the fact that the Patriots are moving on to the Super Bowl we are all thrilled
01:09about that but that game was a grind and that game featured very little offense and the difference to
01:19me was that Sean Payton had a bad day and Mike Vrabel had a good day and his stubbornness and I say that
01:29as a compliment his stubbornness in that second half to continue to run the ball and choose to fight the
01:37clock and put his defense out on the field was a stroke of coaching genius that you don't see a ton of
01:44anymore and to me that that really stands out about this game it stands out about this run for this
01:51team that that sort of element is still intact for the New England Patriots in the calendar year 2026
01:57and I think that's a special thing and I think it goes to this sort of uh brand of Patriot football
02:04which is it doesn't matter who the coach is it doesn't matter who the quarterback is it doesn't
02:09matter that there is a style of football that the Patriots will bring anywhere they need to go in
02:15the month of January to get themselves to a Super Bowl and so in a lot of ways it felt like such a
02:20throwback yesterday and for that reason it was really enjoyable the game sort of sucked it was
02:25that game was drunk that was a tractor pull right yeah it was gross yep but they went on the road to
02:32Denver and for the first time in their history won a playoff game at that place which sucks and I've
02:38told you guys it sucked and I think that that game yesterday proves that it sucks to go there
02:43and they won dirty if you want to call it that right they were mucking it up and they won dirty
