Governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey joins! The Greg Hill Show
Transcript
00:00The governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is available right now.
00:05Governor Healy, good morning.
00:07Hey, good morning, Greg. How you doing?
00:09Doing well.
00:10Great day.
00:11We survived. What's the latest on driving and the story?
00:17I know there's, Courtney mentioned during the news,
00:19a couple thousand people without power this morning in Massachusetts.
00:24Yeah, I mean, what I'd say to folks is, first of all, thank you, Massachusetts.
00:28It's people, I think, listen, you do the great job staying off the roads.
00:31It really helped.
00:32It really helped our crews, you know, the plows to keep up with the snow.
00:37I encourage people, you know, work from home today where you can, limit travel,
00:41try to stay off the roads because there's still a lot of cleanup.
00:44And we're going to get another dumping in a little bit, okay?
00:47So there's a lull right now, but we're going to get a little bit more snow as the day goes forward.
00:53And in terms of the cold, we know it's cold, so, you know,
00:57check in neighbors, elderly folks, right, make sure they're squared away and have what they need.
01:03But, you know, fortunately, the snowstorm was, like, drier snow,
01:07so we didn't have some of the wet snow that causes a lot of downed power lines.
01:13So the numbers of people who've lost power, it's low.
01:16But if you've lost power, it's awful.
01:18Make sure you've called 211 and that you're taking advantage of local services there to get you squared away.
01:24But, you know, if I can, Greg, I just remind people to be patient with clearing the snow.
01:31These guys have been working their butts off for 24 hours, salting, you know, plowing,
01:36and they've got more to do today.
01:38And so huge shout-out to our BPW workers, all the guys in the plows, first responders, right?
01:44Thank you, thank you, thank you.
01:46And my call to the public is just, like, make it easier for them, you know, stay out of their way.
01:51Don't drive close to plows.
01:53Dig up those fire hydrants and just take it easy today.
01:56We are going to get more snow.
01:58Curtis called to check on me yesterday.
01:59I had to remind him I'm not technically elderly.
02:02I'm not a fat runner.
02:04How about those New England Patriots?
02:08I mean, it's just, like, it doesn't get any better, right?
02:11I mean, it's so classic.
02:13And, like, Vrabel is just the best.
02:15I mean, just from a leadership, I mean, the guy is just, have you ever seen guys come together
02:22and just play so hard for someone and play so hard together?
02:27I mean, I watched Diggs in the press conference.
02:28He's, like, tearing up.
02:30So it's just awesome.
02:32I love, I mean, Denver is such a terrible place to play, to go and win and win that way in the defense.
02:40And you got to, I mean, I love Drake May.
02:42I love Drake May.
02:43Like, he finds a way to do it.
02:45You know, it wasn't the easiest, you know, thing for him.
02:48But his couple scrambles at the right time, you know, it just, they did what they need to do.
02:54So pumped for New England.
02:55So pumped to welcome him back.
02:57And it's just, it's a great story.
