00:00Ivanka Trump is giving up on the fashion business. The first daughter's clothing brand is officially
00:05closing down. Ivanka started her fashion empire as a fine jewelry brand back in 2007,
00:10and it grew to include moderately priced clothing sold at department stores and on her own website.
00:15She said in a statement,
00:20She added,
00:30The brand has been under fire since even before her father, President Donald Trump, took office,
00:41and Ivanka moved to Washington, D.C. to become a special advisor to the White House.
00:45In January 2017, her namesake fashion label promoted a $10,000 bracelet she wore during a 60 Minutes interview
00:52the Trump family gave after the election, drawing serious criticism on social media.
00:56Later that month, to comply with ethic guidelines, Ivanka officially stepped away from her brand.
01:02But by February 2017, the brand made headlines again, when Nordstrom dropped it and Neiman Marcus
01:08did the same soon after. The brand has since been for sale at Bloomingdale's, Amazon.com,
01:13and Lord & Taylor. The product will continue to be produced and sold through the end of all
01:17licensing agreements, which include footwear and handbags.
