The European Union makes its vow to cut Russian gas legally binding, despite opposition from Hungary and Slovakia, as the bloc pushes to reduce reliance on Moscow.

00:24Though Slovakia and Hungary voted against it,
00:26Hungary says it will challenge the law at the European Court of Justice.
00:30Under the agreement, the EU will halt Russian liquefied natural gas imports by the end of 2026
00:36and pipeline gas by September 30, 2027.
00:41Before the war, Russia supplied over 40% of EU gas.
00:45That share has now fallen to around 13%.
