00:00Australia has one of the largest volunteering communities in the world, I understand, per capita,
00:07so there are many people that probably deserve this award as well.
00:11However, today's my day obviously, but I've been volunteering probably back in the days
00:19when many of the mothers in the community didn't work, and I suppose I've been volunteering
00:27within the community in the town I lived in before I came here, in Dinolequin, probably
00:32from when I was about 25 or something, I guess, so it's just flowed on, and I've always held
00:40high the saying of my bit of a hero from history, John F. Kennedy, who always says,
00:48it's not about what you can do for yourself, but what you can do for your community.
00:52We, every Tuesday, welcome over 200 people to our space, where we embrace those living
01:00with dementia, and we have now opened up our doors to those with disabilities and their
01:08carers and those in isolation.
01:10So, I welcome you to come along on any Tuesday to experience a bit of joy of what we do.
01:20It's pure magic, and if you would like to come and see what we do, we welcome you.

01:29The community for sports here, shearing, it's good that it's sort of been recognised as
01:37a sport, so hopefully one day we can get to go to the Olympics, because it is very, very
01:45hard, and we're like athletes, top-level fellas and women in the industry now that are coming
01:52up through, so it's an honour to get this award.
