00:00Was that your sweetest winner as United head coach?
00:05It was a tough game for us today, I think we knew that really coming,
00:10it was never going to be the perfect kind of game for us.
00:15We'd gathered less than two weeks, so we knew coming here
00:19we were going to have to draw on so many different things
00:22to get a performance to them, to be able to get the result.
00:26It was up and down at times, there were some really good things in the game for us,
00:29things we can work on, but the way the boys were, the belief, the confidence,
00:34the spirit, everything that came together made me really proud of it.
00:38It felt like Arsenal fans were quite edgy, one year off,
00:41do you feel as though you capitalised on that itchiness, that anxiety?
00:47I just think we understood the flaw of the game,
00:50and at times we were feeling a little bit up against it and digging in,
00:55and then we wanted to try and take control as well, away from home.
00:58In these big games, you've got to take an element of control
01:03and calm things down a little bit.
01:05I thought we did enough in the game to then grow into the game.
01:10The goals were fantastic goals and some of the football was good
01:14and we looked dangerous at certain times, other times we had to defend,
01:17but it was just a performance with a bit of everything really.
01:20Chris?
01:21Could you ever hope that your first two games were over at Manchester City?
01:26I understand there were two tough games to start with,
01:32we've got tough games coming up, so I understood that,
01:36but the best one is to win in terms of getting that feeling and that emotion,
01:41that confidence and that lift.
01:43So, yeah, the boys have been fantastic.
01:47As I said, lasting two weeks together to put things in place
01:50and to try to do the things we've asked.
01:53As I said, there's still layers that we want to get to and we want to improve,
01:56but in terms of what it's taken to win these two games, they've done great.
02:02Two fantastic strikes with second two goals.
02:05Have you been doing more shooting at that?
02:08I can't take any credit for them two finishers.
02:11The move for Park was a really good move and the connection through the pitch,
02:15but to finish it like the way he did was some finish.
02:19You know, you get there where it kind of takes your breath away a little bit,
02:22catches you out and it was a good start the second half.
02:25And then Matthias coming on, having a big impact again like he did last week,
02:29you know, creating a goal last week.
02:31I just fancied him to come out of his feet.
02:33I really fancied him to score.
02:35Again, fantastic finish and kind of epitomises probably as a group
02:40what we've been like this week.
02:42You know, Matthias has not started both games, but he's had a real big impact.
02:46He's been disappointed not to start, but he's used it in a really good way.
02:49Two huge moments and he totally deserves that winning goal for that,
02:54how he's applied himself for a week and I'm absolutely delighted for him.
02:59Mike, you took over a team that has a lot of disappointing results at home,
03:04so I don't get away from that recently against teams that I would expect to be.
03:08What do you think these two wins have said in terms of statements about where this team are?
03:12I think it's more about the feeling that that gives us, really, as a group and the players and as a club.
03:31It's certainly the supporters, you know.
03:34It's my concerns more that, if that can bring us together and lift us in a real positive manner.
03:42Listen, I'm not getting carried away.
03:44We've got some bigger games coming up because every next game is the bigger game.
03:50So, we're not getting carried away, you know.
03:52We've got really important things coming up that we need to keep improving with.
03:56So, two massive games.
03:58There's a lot of emotion and a lot of energy and a lot of confidence that you can take from that,
04:01but be humble and understand how we've got these results is really important moving forward.
04:06So, we'll go with Mark and then a nice question for Carl.
04:09Mark, what's your interesting thing about the two that are emotional to carry down?
04:14At the end of the final challenge, we're going to read, so I think we probably don't know what that's going to be.
04:18I didn't hear what you said. What?
04:20What?
04:21OK.
04:22What's your challenge about the top four?
04:25I think it's...
04:28Well, I know from our perspective it's just moving forward to the next game, right?
04:33Let's get this next week. As I said, it's been less than two weeks that we've been together.
04:37So, it's just keep getting good habits really and good routines, good habits.
04:42The boys have been fantastic with that. I don't think we can look too far ahead.
04:46We certainly won't be anyway. It's a big lean look to Fulham and games coming up.
04:52So, we'll finish where we finish by getting the results.
04:55I know that's kind of obvious, but looking too far ahead can come back and bite you really.
05:01So, we've taken this week by week, game by game. We'll certainly continue to do that.
05:05But we've got to ride it. You've got to use the emotion, you've got to use the energy, you've got to use the confidence.
05:10Like I just said, you've got to be humble enough to understand how we've just achieved these two big results.
05:15And it doesn't just come easy. So, we need to continue that and bottle it and use it again.
05:20So, what are the negatives? Like the heavy cuts, are they? They're kind of a pressure advantage.
05:24You've got to keep building. I said last week was a good start and building on that. We've built on it a bit.
05:30We need to continue to do that in the weeks coming up.
05:46Is the character another good team performance? Can you share a bit more about what you've made of Patrick Goodman today?
05:52Yeah, Pat's been a big player for us in the last couple of games.
05:59I think in so many ways, attacking-wise, obviously he's scored two goals.
06:04But I think in terms of the threat and his athleticism and his quality coming in as well and the connections,
06:10I think defensively he's been immense as well down the side with Luke and doubling up against two teams
06:19that ask a lot of questions down the side. So, it's a big, big job for him and delighted for him.
06:25Because the two goals he scored, very different goals, but you get that because he's put so much into the performances.
06:31It's nice to see him smiling and happy. He obviously came off with hopefully a little bit of cramp,
06:39but hopefully it's nothing worse. But he ended up coming up by then and it just shows what he's put in really to the performance.
06:44But yeah, absolutely delighted for him. Just hopefully he's not too bad.
06:47So, more cramp than it was the second house you're going to do?
06:50At this stage it's hard to tell. Excuse me. So, we'll just have to wait and see.
06:54But yeah, for sure, we're hoping that it's not too bad.
06:56Thank you, Mark.
06:57Alright. Cheers, guys. See you in a bit.
