00:00How about the Pittsburgh Steelers?
00:01They're not used to hiring new head coaches, Joe.
00:03Everybody stays like 15, 20 years, and away you go.
00:05Chris Shula, 53% is what he's trading at right now
00:09to be the Pittsburgh Steelers' next head coach.
00:11He was as high on January 18th, Joe, as 86%.
00:16So it's actually come down in the past week,
00:17but still a heavy favorite over Sheilhouse.
00:19An interesting one is that Sean McDermott now is trading at 12%.
00:24Here's the tough part about it,
00:26because the Steelers seem like they like to take their own guy
00:31and say, you be here for 15 or 20 years.
00:33McDermott's already been a head coach.
00:35I don't think he gets that.
00:36Shula, where there's smoke, there's fire.
00:38You believe in that?
00:39I don't know if I could believe in Shula.
00:41I mean, Ram's defense has been good.
00:44Yeah.
00:45They haven't been.
00:47Exactly.
00:47This isn't like the MO.
00:49And I know they like the young up-and-coming.
00:51He's in his 30s.
00:52I get it.
00:52They got exposed by multiple teams.
00:54They beat Detroit, but Detroit put up Jared Goff,
01:01had 300 yards passing, almost all in the first half.
01:05I mean, Caleb in that offense moved the football.
01:08Sam Darnold in the primetime win moved the football.
01:11Last month of the regular season, their defense was atrocious,
01:16not even just average.
01:18They were bad.
01:19Who would you like to see the Steelers actually?
01:21Forget about the odds market.
01:22Like, who's a good spot for you for a Pittsburgh Steelers head coach?
01:25Brian Flores, just ramp it up.
01:26If you want a defensive-minded head coach,
01:29and you're going to go McDermott, that failed, right,
01:32with one of the best quarterbacks.
01:34You're going to go, obviously, I heard McCarthy's name mentioned,
01:38which, why would you take Mike McCarthy?
01:40The worst combination ever is Pittsburgh and Mike McCarthy.
01:43Terrible.
01:44But at least Flores was there.
01:45He's got an above-average defense in Minnesota.
01:48He's a blue-collar guy.
01:50He's intense.
01:51You still have no quarterback,
01:53so it's not like he's going to coach the quarterback down.
01:55Yeah.
01:56I would go with Flores.
01:57I would take a shot.
01:58You know what's interesting, too?
01:58He signed back with Minnesota, but the clause is, hey,
02:01we'll make you a high-pay coordinator if you don't get a job,
02:03and then we'll settle back on it.
02:04So still a legitimate chance that he can do that.
02:06But where are some of these other coaches?
02:09Like Las Vegas is in no-man's.
02:11How about Cleveland, though?
02:13Grant Udinski, the hottest name on the market we've ever seen,
02:15a 30-year-old kid trying to be a head coach.
02:17He's actually trading at 44% here.
02:20Who else is on there?
02:21Jim Schwartz at 22%.
02:23Sheilhouse, Campagnale, he's actually been taken off the board here.
02:26Todd Munkin, 8%.
02:28Sean McDermott, 3% here.
02:30But those are the guys.
02:31It looks like it's going to be between Sheilhouse, Schwartz,
02:34and Udinski based on the odds.
02:36I mean, Schwartz has been, you know, regurgitated throughout the league, right?
02:41I would take a shot if I'm Cleveland.
02:44I think McDermott, I mean, McDermott is a significant upgrade for them.
02:48I mean, I don't understand.
02:50Let me ask you this on McDermott, though.
02:53He should get a head coaching job this cycle, right?
02:56Like, it's not, we're not.
02:57But you're telling me Brian Dable, who went 20 and 40, right,
03:04is going to get more looks than Sean McDermott that got the Bills
03:09to multiple AFC championship games and AFC appearances?
03:14You know where McDermott's perfect, Joe?
03:15You know where he's perfect?
03:16It actually is in Vegas.
03:18Vegas is such an upheaval spot for McDermott.
03:21I need a coach that's going to come in, lay the foundation,
03:24who's won before, and they can look up,
03:25well, darn it, they just had Pete Carroll.
03:27Stop it.
03:27Pete Carroll's at the end of the train,
03:29almost in the nursing home at that point.
03:30I need to see stability in Vegas,
03:34and he's only trading there, Joe, at like 4%.
03:37Yeah, it's not a bad look.
03:38I mean, McDermott, for me, would be a good fit in Las Vegas.
03:43You give him Mendoza, and he could work with a young quarterback,
03:46and there you go.
