00:00Do you think that now that President Trump has said, right, the use of military force is off the table,
00:04there seems to have been a rethinking of the tariffs being imposed on the eight European countries
00:10that oppose the whole idea of Greenland being taken over.
00:14Do you think that means the idea of sovereignty over Greenland has been put to one side as a whole
00:20and that President Trump is showing all the signs of perhaps wanting to work within the existing framework
00:26that we were talking about earlier that does allow for additional bases and additional troops,
00:30whether they're American or NATO troops?
00:33Do you think that's the direction he's decided now to go in?
00:35Well, I think we'll have to wait to see what they reveal to us.
00:38And it's only a framework right now. But you're right.
00:41He has said he is not going to impose those tariffs on February 1st.
00:45That's a win for those allies that sent like onesies, twosies troops to Greenland just to, you know, I'll show him.
00:52Like rather than pick up the phone and say, let's talk and let's make a plan.
00:56They were sort of like being very obstinate, but in a in a in a not productive way.
01:02So, I mean, that's not good diplomacy.
01:04Good diplomacy are President Trump's threat of tariffs and then the walk back as we proceed to a framework that's good for everybody.
01:13The European allies, if they could just, I would say, follow the example of President Trump.
01:18It probably goes for many world leaders just to make sure that they put their own citizens first, that they secure their borders, they control their immigration.
01:27They have cheap and abundant energy for their people and the businesses in their country.
01:32And then they have a credible defense so that they're strong allies.
01:36I mean, there's nothing there's nothing surprising or negative about that.
01:42That's in President Trump's administration's national security strategy that anybody can read.
01:47It's online and it's really in plain English.
01:49And it kind of talks about why he's doing what he's doing.
