For home use, HDPE is the preferred choice: If you're an average family cutting vegetables and fruits daily and prioritizing cost-effectiveness, an HDPE cutting board is perfectly sufficient. Just remember to replace it regularly (every 1-2 years).
For commercial/heavy-duty use, choose UHMWPE: If you're in a restaurant, cafeteria, or other high-frequency cutting environment, or if your family frequently cuts meat or chops bones and requires high standards of hygiene and durability, a UHMWPE cutting board is the better option. Although the initial investment is higher, it's more cost-effective in the long run.
