00:00I'm not saying this is specific to Robert, but it's an owner talking point, which is garbage.
00:04The 18-2 versus 17-3 is just so invalid, it's not even funny.
00:10Again, Robert's just saying what they all say, and this is coming from the commissioner,
00:14but it's not 18-2 versus 17-3 because those two or three preseason games do not take a toll
00:21on your players' bodies the way that regular season games do.
00:24It is not the same thing, and don't fall for that.
00:26It's not 20 games and we're just moving one from preseason to regular season.
00:32It's just like that is a – you know what on you and telling you it's raining, right?
00:40I think you can physically see the difference now in what these teams look like at the end of the year,
00:4517 games versus 16 games.
00:47I think you can see it in the amount of injuries there are.
00:50I think you can see it in the way guys are later in their careers.
00:55And I just think, like, here's why I would – if I would fight it if I were a player,
01:00what I would say is, like, okay, like, if we're absolutely positively going to do this,
01:05you have to give us easier ways to get to the money faster.
01:10Here's why.
01:11Right now, as it stands right now, it takes 48 games for most players to – or 64.
01:17It takes – like, it would take – hold on, let me do the math in my head.
01:2364 games and a 16-game schedule to get to free agency, right?
01:28In a 17-game schedule, that's 68 games.
01:31If you're going to an 18-game schedule, now we're talking about having to play 72 games
01:35to get to free agency.
01:37That is eight more car crashes that you have to get into, right?
01:41Yeah.
01:41So that's an extra eight games to get to free agency.
01:45Why should the players have to go through an extra eight games of injury risk,
01:49possibility something else happens that could affect their ability to get to the market?
01:53Why should they have to take that on?
