James Corden is set to host the 2019 Tony Awards, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

00:00The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that James Corden will be the host of the 2019
00:13Tony Awards. The appointment will mark the second time the Late Late Show host who
00:17won a Tony himself in 2012 for his performance in One Man, Two Governors has
00:21emceed the Broadway ceremony as he also took on the gig in 2016. Said Corden in a
00:26statement,
00:35Tony executive producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss enthused that Corden is
00:38hilarious and insanely talented, adding that the TV personality and theater vet is
00:43brilliantly unpredictable. Corden is no stranger to hosting awards ceremonies. In addition to
00:48the 2016 Tonys, the Late Night host has also hosted the Grammy Awards before and that
00:52makes him, according to Jack Sussman, EVP of specials, music and live events at CBS, the
00:57ultimate master of ceremonies to lead a night of live event television celebrating live
01:01theater. Sussman elaborated in a statement,
01:04The awards show will be broadcast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on
01:15June 9th at 8 p.m. Eastern. Nominations will be announced April 30th.
