00:00Leave it to Beaver actor Ken Osmond dies at age 76,
00:03John Oliver cautions against the hasty return of sporting events,
00:06and Hollywood remembers Fred Willard.
00:08First, Ken Osmond, the Leave it to Beaver actor known for his convincing portrayal of Eddie Haskell
00:13on two iterations of the classic TV comedy, Has Died.
00:16He was 76.
00:18You call me mom?
00:19Yes, Wally.
00:20Good morning, Mrs. Cleaver.
00:21That's a very pretty dress.
00:25His son Eric said in a statement on Monday,
00:26He was an incredibly kind and wonderful father.
00:29He had his family gathered around him when he passed.
00:32He was loved and will be very missed.
00:34Next, John Oliver cautioned sports fans during last week tonight
00:37that no matter how much they are craving the return of live sporting events,
00:40the question is, how can that safely happen?
00:43THR's Neha Joy has more.
00:45The host noted how Florida had decided early on that professional sports and media production
00:49with a national audience was essential as long as the public was unable to attend,
00:53leading the WWE, AEW, and UFC to proceed with fights.
00:57However, a UFC fighter and two of his corner men had recently tested positive.
01:01If you want to come back completely without risk, that's just not possible right now.
01:06Oliver then turned to Major League Baseball, which at first said it would stage all games
01:10in Arizona and put players in hotel rooms.
01:13It all becomes much, much more complicated because, of course, you wouldn't just be isolating players.
01:18He noted, in addition to players, there are coaching staff, team physicians, umpires, camera crews,
01:23and many more people behind the scenes that need to be isolated and cited that a scenario like that
01:27would require around 10,000 people to be isolated, all of whom would need to be constantly tested.
01:33And Hollywood is remembering Fred Willard, the Emmy-nominated and clever comic actor
01:36who played clueless characters to perfection on Fernwood Tonight and Everybody Loves Raymond.
01:41He died on Friday at the age of 86.
01:44Hollywood stars were quick to pay tribute to the actor on social media.
01:47Steve Carell, who starred alongside Willard in both Anchorman films, remembered him for
01:51being the funniest person that I've ever worked with.
01:53He was a sweet, wonderful man.
01:55Meanwhile, Steve Martin tweeted,
01:56Rest in peace, Fred.
01:58You were always my comic hero.
01:59I was thrilled to work with you in Roxanne.
