00:00Yeah, Belichick thought.
00:01Maz heard that this morning from Kimberly Martin on ESPN.
00:03And what'd you think, Maz?
00:04Well, because it's one thing for us to say it.
00:07And again, when I say say it,
00:09I mean the idea that Bill is now surrounded by this storm off the field
00:13and he's completely smeared his reputation
00:16and the Jordan Huntson nonsense,
00:19the collapse at North Carolina State in terms of the team's performance,
00:23North Carolina, the team's performance, all of that.
00:25And we look at him and say, Bill's kind of turned himself into a clown.
00:28Who the hell's going to hire Bill when the whole thing looks like a clown show?
00:32But when you hear that around the league,
00:34no one ever talks about Bill's acumen anymore,
00:37it's all about what Bill Belichick has done to his reputation.
00:41To me, that resonates.
00:43Because the more I think about it,
00:46Buffalo should want to hire Belichick for the team they have.
00:49They should.
00:50Really, when you look at it and say,
00:53given where they are and the defensive shortcomings they've had
00:57in some of these postseason games,
00:59they have one of the great quarterbacks,
01:01not just in the league right now,
01:03maybe in the history of the league,
01:04and maybe not even maybe.
01:06They do.
01:07He is unbelievably talented.
01:09Unlike any guy maybe who's ever played that position.
01:12They have all the elements there to win,
01:15except maybe a coach that can really keep them inside the lines
01:19and game plan and win a championship.
01:21And admittedly, they need help on the roster too.
01:23The fact that he is like,
01:26you say you don't want to hire him, fine, no problem.
01:30The fact that he doesn't even enter the conversation
01:33is never even a part of it
01:36is really an astonishing fact
01:40given where he was as recently as a couple of years ago.
01:43A couple of years ago?
01:44I think you're both living in the past.
01:46Anyone thinking this?
01:46So never mind the off-field nonsense.
01:49What has he done as a coach in the last six years
01:50that makes you feel this way?
01:53That's a long time, especially in the NFL.
01:55Okay, so you said the last six years.
01:56So 2021 with Matt Jones, they went 10-7.
02:00Okay, how do they look in the playoff game?
02:02They look like a good, prepared team.
02:04One player showed up.
02:05It was the quarterback that day.
02:06Yeah, talent.
02:07They were not even close to being on the same field as Buffalo.
02:10How is the relationship with the quarterback?
02:12All of that is bad, Murray.
02:14Bad, bad, bad.
02:15I don't dispute any of that.
02:17But he does have a track record of if you give him the quarterback
02:21and there's something at stake that he generally knows
02:25how to get the most out of the team.
02:27And so, listen, I'm not telling you that I would do it
02:29or I'm just saying the fact that it's a zero, a zero,
02:34is really an indictment on how Bill has handled his life.
02:37Stunning.
02:38Yeah, not just his coaching, his life in the last couple of years.
