00:00NBA action yesterday. We did touch on a game with the Los Angeles Lakers traveling to elevation to take on the Denver Nuggets.
00:06Now, as we knew, the Denver Nuggets weren't going to be full go because maybe the best player in the NBA still not ready to come back.
00:11But how about this? A 115-107 final where the Lakers end up with a victory.
00:16And, Joe, I look at the way this goes by quarters. This is kind of interesting, right?
00:19Denver, 37-28 winners in the first quarter. Denver, 34-29 winners in the second quarter.
00:25We're in elevation. Typically, Joe, the away team starts to crater in the third and fourth quarter.
00:30The exact opposite happened. The Lakers won the third quarter 29-17, and the Lakers won the fourth quarter 29-19.
00:37That's pretty impressive, getting dusted in the first half but coming back in elevation in the second half.
00:42Why? Because Luka Doncic, 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, a triple-double for the victory.
00:50Yeah, and listen, we knew the Nuggets were shorthanded to begin with, right?
00:55Christian Braun wasn't playing in this one. There's still no joker.
00:59But you had Jamal Murray, who I think had 26 of his 28 points, Donnie.
01:03To your point, we're in the first half. That was it.
01:07He only scored two points in the second half, went one or five.
01:10So if Jamal Murray can't get it going in the second half for you,
01:14you're going to be hard-pressed to find enough scoring there in Denver to be able,
01:19especially to go up against Luka, who has a triple-double.
01:22And kudos to LeBron, by the way, because DeAndre Ayton got poked in the eye
01:27and never came back in that game in the second half.
01:31So, you know, LeBron had to play some minutes and had to play a lot more
01:34than he might have liked to have.
01:37But you know what? In a winning cause, kudos to the Lakers for getting it done last night.
