On Tuesday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense declared a four‑day ceasefire with the Kurdish‑led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the northeast of the country. The truce, which came into effect at 8 p.m. local time, follows an understanding reached with the de facto government. As part of efforts to integrate the SDF into the Syrian state, the army requested that Kurdish forces propose a candidate for the role of Assistant to the Defense Minister in Damascus. 00:10This announcement followed a report from the de facto government of an understanding with the Syrian Democratic Forces for a truce that came into effect at 8 p.m. local time.

00:20The Syrian Army stated they also asked the Kurdish forces to provide the name of a candidate for the role of assistant to the Defense Minister in Damascus, as part of the efforts to integrate the SDF into the de facto Syrian state.
