00:00Fix it fast. Seeing add food in sous vide mode is not an error, and it's not checking what you put
00:06in. It's a timing pause. Here's what it actually means and how to move past it cleanly.
00:12Step 1. Let the water reach temperature first. In sous vide mode, the cooker heats the water
00:17to your target temperature before starting the timer. When it reaches that temperature,
00:22it pauses and shows add food. This ensures your cook time starts accurately.
00:26Step 2. Add properly sealed food only after the prompt appears. Once add food shows,
00:34lower your sealed food into the water. The cooker does not detect bags or contents,
00:39but floating or leaking bags will cause real problems. If you're using thin zipper bags
00:44that float or leak, you need actual sous vide bags. I've linked the set I use below. They seal
00:50reliably and stay submerged without the guesswork. Step 3. Press start again to begin cooking.
00:56This is the most missed step. After adding food, press start. The timer will not begin until
01:01you confirm. If you add food and wait, the message stays on screen.
01:06Step 4. Recheck the water level after adding food. Food displaces water. Make sure the level
01:12still sits between the minimum and maximum marks. If it's below minimum, add hot water from a kettle
01:17to avoid dropping the temperature. Step 5. Keep the lid on and avoid stirring. Once the timer starts,
01:23leave it alone. Removing the lid or moving the food unnecessarily can affect temperature stability
01:29during long cooks. If add food appears every time you use sous vide, that's normal. It's waiting for
01:36confirmation, not signaling a fault. If the timer still will not start after pressing start,
01:42start with the correct water level. Contact NINJA support using the link in the description.
01:49And if you need proper sous vide bags that seal tight and don't float or leak, I've linked the set
01:53I use below. They make this step effortless and prevent beginner mistakes. Press start, walk away, and
02:00let temperature do the thinking.
