Transcript
00:00Kristen Stewart is praising the late Princess Diana ahead of the release of Spencer.
00:11The actress portrays the People's Princess in Pablo Lorraine's biopic set over a long Christmas weekend
00:16where Diana decides to end her doomed marriage to Prince Charles.
00:20During a press conference for the film, Stewart gushed about the late royals saying,
00:23there are some people that are endowed with undeniable energy.
00:27But as well as being so normal and disarming, she also felt so isolated and so lonely.
00:32She needed everyone to feel accompanied and bolstered by this beautiful light,
00:36and all she wanted was to have it back.
00:38She added,
00:39To me, that was the coolest thing she did.
00:43When asked whether she felt any similarities between herself and Diana,
00:47as someone who has also experienced massive media attention,
00:50the actress said not in the same way.
00:52She was the most famous woman in the world.
00:54I have tasted a high level of that,
00:56but nowhere near that monumental, symbolic representation of an entire group of people.
01:01However, she noted that she empathized with the idea of not having control over a situation,
01:06especially with public opinion,
01:07or when the story on the street is just wrong and there's nowhere to correct it.
01:11She added,
01:12But that was what life was like for her,
01:14and at some point you're going to bare your teeth because we're animals and it's natural.
01:18I think everyone feels like they knew her, which is what's beautiful about her.
01:21You think you're friends with her, but ironically, she was the most unknown person.
01:25Spencer, one of the hottest films at the Venice Film Festival,
01:28will have its world premiere on Friday.
