00:01Rescue efforts continued Monday at the crash site in southern Spain.
00:05The collision between two trains on Sunday evening was so violent
00:09that bodies were being found hundreds of metres away.
00:12Survivors described traumatic scenes.
00:15Some people were OK, but some were very, very bad.
00:19I had them in front of me and you could tell they were really bad
00:22and I couldn't do anything.
00:25Authorities said all the survivors had been rescued Monday,
00:29but that they were still looking for bodies.
00:31The problem is that the heavy machinery we were waiting for
00:35faces difficulties trying to lift the carriages
00:38to allow the work of the firefighters.
00:41Sadly, it seems, there could be more bodies inside those carriages.
00:48The accident has shaken a nation which has the largest high-speed rail network in Europe
00:54and the Spanish Prime Minister has announced three days of national mourning.
00:58I think it's a painful day for all of Spain, for our entire country.
01:04We will uncover the truth, we will find out the answers.
01:11This animation shows what happened when the tail end of a train travelling from Malaga to Madrid
01:17went off the rails and slammed into a second train travelling in the opposite direction.
01:22The head of the second train took the brunt of the impact
01:25and was sent plummeting down a four-metre slope.
01:28The cause of the accident is unclear.
01:31The train that derailed was less than four years old
01:33and the collision occurred on a straight stretch of track that had been renovated in May.
01:38But Reuters reported that experts studying the crash site found a broken joint on the rails.
01:43An investigation is underway, which could take a month, according to the Transport Minister.
