The death toll from the high-speed train crash in southern Spain on Jan 18 has risen to 39, with 152 people injured.

00:1248 people remain hospitalized, and 12 are under intensive care.
00:16The accident occurred at 7.45 p.m. near Adamus, in the Cordoba province, about 360 kilometers
00:25of the south of Madrid, when a derailing high-speed train collided with a second oncoming train.
00:31Transport Minister Oscar Puente described the accident as extremely strange,

01:07with the worst impact sustained by the Renfe train travelling from Madrid to Huelva.

01:53Around 400 passengers were on board the two trains, operated by Irio and Alvia.
