00:01Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chair Ping Laxon addresses criticisms that investigations into
00:05flood control corruption has not led to substantial results. This as the panel resumes its hearing on
00:11Monday, January 16. Laxon cites the filing of charges with the Sandigan Bayan and other courts,
00:16the preliminary investigations before the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice,
00:20as well as the freezing of at least 21.7 billion pesos in bank accounts and other assets.
00:25He also cites uncovering the system of blacklisted companies resurfacing under new names,
00:30uncovering of the practice of license renting, and awarding of billion-peso contracts to
00:34undercapitalized firms. He also says the hearings triggered reforms in the budget process,
00:39including the live streaming of the bicameral meetings.
00:41Let me emphasize one point. We always go where the evidence leads us. We do not target any particular
00:51person, nor do we have the intention to cover up for anybody. With all that being said, as the
00:59chairman of this committee, I say to you, shut the F up.
