00:00And now some international news. India has been invited to join a newly proposed
00:04Board of Peace at ensuring long-term peace and stability in Gaza.
00:09But the invitation comes with significant conditions and caveats.
00:14The twist lies in a hefty membership fee, almost a million dollars,
00:18and the fact that India's not-so-peaceful neighbor, Pakistan, has also been extended
00:23an invitation along with several other countries.
00:26U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gore has confirmed that Washington has formally invited India to join
00:33the Gaza Board, stating that the initiative is intended to bring lasting peace and stability
00:38to the region. India is one among several nations invited. Countries including Jordan, Greece,
00:44Cyprus, Canada, Turkey, Egypt, Paraguay, Argentina and Albania are on the list, but so is Pakistan.
00:52Opposition leaders have raised objections, reacting sharply to Pakistan's inclusion.
00:58Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi called it laughable and said Pakistan has never encouraged
01:04peace. She also expressed hope that India would decline the invite, saying thanks, but no thanks.
01:10U.S. President Donald Trump is set to chair the Gaza Board of Peace, an initiative aimed at
01:16resolving global conflicts with a special focus on Gaza's reconstruction. Permanent membership will
01:22require a $1 billion payment with the funds to be used for rebuilding what on Gaza.
