00:00I'm gonna count my 12 out. Okay, because now you know how to do it, right? Okay, what?
00:07Oh, he thought I said 12 feet. No, no, no, no, no.
00:30Hi, folks, I'm Pat Malone, and this week on the Elite Fishing Series, the Frog Togs Elite
00:46Solo Tour concludes with a move to South Padre Island and the Tidewater Boats National Championship.
00:53Known for great fishing, pristine waters, and magical sunsets, South Padre Island is a beautiful
00:59way to finish off the season in this episode of the Tidewater Boats Elite Fishing Series
01:05presented by Yamaha Outboards.
01:09All right, Mike, here we are, the last event of the season, the Tidewater Boats National
01:13Championship, and I know for sure you'd rather be out there practicing right now, but the
01:19doctors have kind of sidelined you and told you, hold off on this one, big fella, and it's
01:23got to be chomping at you right now. You love these waters, and you do pretty good down here
01:26too. Yeah, I love South Padre fishing. It's just a great estuary, shallow flats all over
01:32the place, and there's a lot of redfish in this area.
01:34Well, one of the cool things about the format for the championship, unlike during the regular
01:37season, we've added an extra day. So this has now become a Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
01:43three-day aggregate weight tournament. So you've got an extra day to figure them out.
01:47Can you make a big move down here, though? I mean, are the fish like that, you know, in
01:50Louisiana or Southeast Texas? You know, you can get out and get some nine-pounders, and you
01:55can make up some ground with that third day and those extra three fish.
01:58No, I think it's definitely possible here, Pat. I think that this is a location that holds
02:03a lot of fish, and I think that, I think what you don't want to do is put everything in
02:09one hat or everything in one basket for all three days.
02:12Give us some of the techniques, Mike, some of the lures, some of the tricks that you would
02:16use to try to land these South Padre redfish.
02:19I'm going to scale down all the way, including my braided line. I'm probably going to go with
02:2210 or 15-pound braided line. I'm going to go with 10-pound fluorocarbon. I use Seaguar
02:28fluorocarbon because it really is, they're the originator of fluorocarbon, so I have a
02:32lot of confidence, and so do most of the anglers. And we're going to tie on a minimum of three-foot
02:39leader, maybe five, six-feet leader, so that whatever lure that you're presenting to these
02:44fish, it doesn't spook them.
02:46It's a great place for the food. It's a great place for the fishing, for the fun. I've seen
02:50parasailers out there. I've seen all kinds of paddleboarders, kayakers. Man, it's unbelievable,
02:56and I can't wait to get this tournament started. It's going to be a lot of fun. South Padre
03:00Island, the Tidewater Boats National Championship. Mike, thank you so much for being with us.

06:47right now. Jay Andrew with 10 47. It's going to be a great day to be in South Padre again tomorrow. The
06:53weather's beautiful. The fishing's fine. Just a little bit tough, but that challenges these pros.
06:58$10,000 for first, $5,000 for second on a very limited field. Plus those two boats. There's a lot
07:05on the line and these guys are making sure that they are prepared for it. And we look forward to

07:14championship presented by Visit South Padre Island. Have a great afternoon. Hey folks, Pat Malone.
07:21With two beautiful Tidewater boats being awarded at this season ending event, we wanted to feature
07:26them and give you the viewers an inside look at just a bit of what it takes to produce the best

09:21these beautiful Tidewater Yamaha rigs at the conclusion of this event. Stay tuned. We'll be back with more
09:27from South Padre Island after these messages. Welcome back to South Padre Island. The competitors
09:33once again launched at Jim's Pier and headed out for day two. After a full eight-hour day of fishing,
09:39they returned. Due to time constraints, we move ahead now to day two's weigh-in.
09:45All right, we'd like to welcome everybody out to the Painted Marlin right here at Jim's Pier,
09:50beautiful South Padre Island, Texas. Wow, what a great afternoon for some redfish. We have got a lot of
09:57money and prizes to give out. Can you believe that these guys are battling it out for two brand new

10:08It's going to go pretty quick. And then tomorrow, the final day of the 2022 National Championship,
10:14and we're ready to get everything started right here. We're ready for our first angler,
10:17the Spotted Addiction Pro, Mr. Gary Marino. Come on, put your hands together for him. What's up, big guy?
10:22How are you doing? You need 361 to take the lead. You feel decently confident? It's going to be
10:30close. Maybe I can tie. What's the tiebreaker, Pat? Here we go. You got started in the negative. I know.
10:37You were the first one to weigh, and you still didn't take the lead. Two fish, two alive, 807. 807,
10:44get them up. Let's get a picture. All right, that was Baytown, Texas. Now we're going all the way over to
10:50Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Your sport trail trailer and Mamba Boats Pro, Mr. Beau Favre.
10:56And I didn't see as many today, but man, the last 30 minutes, I found some big ones. And
11:01I had a big one on right there at the end. He come off and I was, bad things were said.
11:08It was not good grammar on my boat. Well, let's get them weighed up and get them over in the Berkeley
11:12Baits Live Redfish Experience tank so they can start to recover. Two fish, two alive, Beau Favre, 912. All right,
11:20there you go. Come on, Marino gang. You can make noise for somebody else.

12:05And then we're going to Mr. J. Andrews, High Torque of Texas Pro. Now, that looks like a little bit,
12:14a little bit better bag right there, but you're coming off a 1047 yesterday. You got three of them.
12:19Okay. He said today was definitely better. Come off a 1047. That means it must go 1048 or you owe
12:26Tony the $1,000. Here we go. Small print. You got to read the small print. Three fish, three alive.
12:321515. There, that's what I'm talking about, man.

12:45Mr. Will Granberry from Port O'Connor. Put your hands together. Make some noise, y'all.
12:50Over this. Yeah, it's 1684 yesterday. You need to learn how to get this a little bit more consistent,
12:55though. I really want you to work on that. 1681, three 100s from yesterday. You know,
13:01we do put microchips in these fish, and we know if it's the same fish you weighed in yesterday. I'm
13:06just throwing it out there. Well, you know, they say birds have a feather flock together. Well,
13:09so do fish. They swim together, so. Here we go. Coming up next, like we said, from Victoria,
13:19put your hands together for Mr. Mark Robinson. Come on up here, brother. Now, Mark, I know you've been in the
13:24gym, and I know Bronson, you have to lift your baby a lot and stuff like that there, but
13:31that looked awfully easy for you to carry that bag. It's very light. Yesterday was 19 pounds,
13:36but you had a really good fish. Is that what you're missing today, just getting that real big kicker?
13:40Yeah, I actually had two good kickers on, and I lost both of them at the net. 1383, 77 100s behind the leaders.
13:48And there's so much on the line. Let me tell you this. You got $10,000 for first. You got $5,000
