In a case that has shocked the city of Gwalior, an Additional Sessions Court has sentenced Jyoti Rathore to life imprisonment for the cold-blooded murder of her three-year-old son, Jatin. What was initially thought to be a tragic accident turned out to be a calculated crime driven by an extramarital affair.

The tragedy occurred on April 28, 2023, in the Thatipur area. According to the prosecution, Jyoti was on the rooftop with her neighbor, Uday Indoulia, when her son followed her. Fearing the child would expose her relationship, she allegedly pushed him from the two-storey building.

The child’s father, Dhyan Singh—a serving police constable—initially believed his wife. However, Jyoti’s guilt-ridden behavior, sleepless nights, and contradictory statements raised his suspicion. In a brave pursuit of justice, Dhyan Singh discreetly recorded his wife’s confessions, which eventually became the foundation of the police case.

On January 17, the court delivered its judgment based on circumstantial evidence. While Jyoti Rathore was sentenced to life, the alleged lover, Uday Indoulia, was acquitted due to a lack of direct evidence of his involvement.
