00:17Today, police responded to an incident at the Mawson Shops around 10.20am.

00:23On arrival, police identified that a vehicle had gone into the shop front of a shop at Mawson Shopping Centre.

00:33Also, police learned that a four-year-old pedestrian had been hit by the vehicle.

00:40ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT-AS arrived at the scene and immediately treated the young person.

00:48That young person was transported to Canberra Hospital where a medical treatment was commenced.

00:56Unfortunately, that young four-year-old boy has passed away.

01:01The driver of the vehicle is currently at the hospital assisting police with inquiries.

01:06And this investigation is ongoing.
