00:17Flores. In a quote, the drug scandal
00:22involving the family of President
00:23Anero Boa escalates with a scheme to
00:25smoke more than two tons of cocaine.
00:30The Russian Ministry of Defense shot
00:32down 63 Ukrainian drones flying over
00:33several regions of the country.
00:39Hello, welcome from the South.
00:40I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Derezo Studios
00:43in Havana, Cuba.
00:44We begin the news.
00:55In Venezuela, teachers and students
00:59condemned the kidnapping of President
01:01Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia
01:03Flores. The insurgent history movement
01:05gathered at the home of liberator
01:06Simón Bolívar in downtown Caracas.
01:08The network of historians, teachers,
01:10students and universities demand the safe
01:12and immediate release of the Venezuelan
01:14president and his wife.
01:15Protesters carried banners, flags and
01:17slogans in support of the country's
01:19sovereignty.
01:20Also in Venezuela, Acting President
01:27Delce Rodriguez led a comprehensive
01:29social assistance campaign for the
01:31direct victims of the January 3 attacks.
01:33The initiative benefited families seeing
01:35the Fuerte Tuna urban development in
01:37Caracas affected by the U.S. attacks.
01:39Activity provided medical and veterinary
01:41care in various areas.
01:42The Acting President reaffirmed that in
01:44this way, the government is progressing in
01:46the full repair of all damages caused by
01:48the aggression against the country, which
01:50resulted in at least 80 deaths and the
01:52kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro
01:54and First Lady Celia Flores.
01:56And in Venezuela, recreation and cultural
02:02activities were held in Ciudad Tuna,
02:04Caracas, a place that was bombarded by
02:06the United States government in the
02:08early hours of January 3rd.
02:09More details in the following work.
02:11The Ciudad Tuna housing complex, because
02:16the part of the Great Mission, Vivienda
02:18Venezuela, is located within the military
02:20installations for Fuerte Tuna in southern
02:22Caracas.
02:22About 5,000 families lived there, and that
02:25witnessed the bombardment and the U.S.
02:26military encorch.
02:27I still haven't gotten over it, I might get
02:34through it, but I don't think it's going to be
02:36easy.
02:38Waking up to the attack, to the bombardment,
02:40seeing the planes so close, opening the window and watching
02:44them circle around, swooping like vultures, and launching
02:47their missiles the sound was horrific.
02:50I was alone with my two daughters and granddaughters, and
02:53we didn't know what to do.
02:58The recreational activities were called our
03:02cultural peace and were aimed at children, adolescents, and
03:05older adults, with the goal of providing them with
03:07entertainment and leisure.
03:12There are a lot of traumatized people here, especially
03:15the grandparents and children, because of what we went
03:18through.
03:20This activity seems perfect for us because the community
03:23really needed it, it was a horrible, thunderous noise
03:27that's still in my mind.
03:33It was intense, but we are overcoming it, and little by
03:36little we will get through this.
03:39I know God is with us, and I believe we will get the
03:41president and his wife back.
03:48Our demand is that our president Nicolas Madero and the
03:50first combatant be freed, and this is further proof that
03:53we do not have weapons.
03:55The farmers here, we are cultivators, there are many
03:58neighbors, our weapons can be our musical instruments,
04:01painting, poetry, and that is what will keep us, among other
04:05things, in the ongoing struggle.
04:11This location helps to kill our community, which under the
04:14slogan, our cultural peace, highlight the peaceful nature of
04:18Venezuelans.
04:19We are a Venezuela of peace, of love, of culture, of education and
04:25of respect, and after what they did to us, we were not prepared, and we
04:29will never be prepared.
04:30I experienced it, and it still gives me a kind of nostalgia, fear because
04:36seeing the expressions of my neighbors, a shout of evacuate, seeing the
04:40helicopters in front of me invading my space, invading my Venezuela,
04:44invading my family, hearing the screams of my neighbors, seeing
04:47grandmothers running and others who cannot run, and many came out, even
04:50without clothes, and hearing that roar that I still have in my ear.
05:00Something never before seen in our land or in Latin America, a
05:04President of the Republic being taken from his home, especially a
05:07President who has done so much for us, and for this land, together with
05:11his wife, truly, for us Venezuelans, it is something indescribably
05:19horrible, and we are standing in struggle for his return.
05:28The Venezuelan government will proceed to carry repairs on more
05:31than 4,000 homes that were affected by the United States military
05:35aggression.
05:41El Salvador's social and political organizations protested the
05:44Saturday to demand the release of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro
05:47and First Lady Celia Flores were kidnapped by the U.S.
05:50military on January 3rd.
05:56We are calling for the immediate release of our comrade Maduro and
06:00his wife, and for an end to the United States intervention in
06:03Latin America.
06:05We, war veterans of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front,
06:10Dar un saludo y un frat...
06:15We wish to extend our fraternal greetings and solidarity with the
06:19brotherly people of Venezuela and the brotherly people of Cuba, so on
06:23behalf of the veterans, we are demanding freedom for Maduro and
06:27freedom for his wife.
06:29We strongly condemn the fascist aggression of the empire against the
06:39Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on January 3rd.
06:42This aggression resulted in the kidnapping of the constitutional
06:45president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, First Lady, our comrade,
06:50Cilia Flores.
06:52They are now in the United States facing a political trial, an
06:57illegal trial, in the heart of the empire.
06:59With this action, the empire has violated international law, the
07:03free will of the peoples, and the sovereignty of Venezuela.
07:07From here, we join the global campaign to demand the release of our
07:11comrades Maduro and Cilia.
07:13Let them return to their homeland.
07:16We demand freedom for our colleague, Deputy Celia Flores, a woman
07:24who has contributed so much to the Venezuelan process from her
07:28position in the Legislative Assembly, but also in all the social
07:32processes that have brought a transformation in the Sister
07:35Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
07:37We demand their freedom, we demand they be returned, because we
07:45also know that they have committed no crimes any court in the United
07:49States can charge them with.
07:51On Sunday, new reactions were heard from athletes and artists
07:57around the world regarding the transfer of a Nobel Peace Prize
08:00from the far-right Venezuelan politician Maria Corina Machado to
08:03the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
08:05U.S. film producer Franklin Leonard said exchanging a Nobel Peace Prize
08:09for a bag of Trump products is not the best publicity for someone
08:13who wants to run a country.
08:15Former U.S. tennis player Martina Navratilova said Machado made a fool
08:19of herself and the Nobel Peace Prize.
08:21And Venezuela is holding elections for spokespersons for farmers'
08:31councils to guarantee food sovereignty in the country's productive economy.
08:35On Sunday's election, the agricultural sector mobilized to the polling
08:38stations in each community council to elect the next spokespersons for
08:42the farmers' councils.
08:43At these elections, people will select more than 15,543 farmer councils who
08:49will guarantee the continuity of national production through their active
08:54participation.
08:55Venezuelans are demonstrating their organization and patriotism despite recent
08:58threats and aggression from the United States.
09:00Venezuela's studies are advancing that focus on analyzing plant DNA to
09:11strengthen the country's agricultural security.
09:13Science, Technology, Education and Health Vice President Gabriela Jimenez reported
09:18that scientists are working on creating genetic fingerprints for a variety of
09:21vegetables, legumes and fruits.
09:23She explained that through electrophoresis and image digitalization with ultraviolet
09:30light, specialists obtained genetic models that allowed them to construct
09:34matrices to determine the diversity of the species under study.
09:37The research conducted uses techniques such as polymerase, chain reaction and
09:44specialized equipment.
09:45We now have our first break coming up.

09:59Welcome back.
10:28In Ecuador, the drug scandal involving the family of President Anendo Boa escalates with
10:33a scheme to smuggle more than two tons of cocaine.
10:35It is known as the Blasti case as the containers where 2.6 tons of cocaine were found between
10:41March 27th and the 28th, 2025 were, according to the anti-drug police, manipulated and cloned
10:47in the yard of the Blasti company, a public limited company.
10:51The area is located in the DP World Pozorja port in the province of Guayas and belongs to
10:57the Novoa Global Companies.
10:58Currently, there are five people in custody and investigations have concluded that Chilean
11:03citizen Alvaro Guiverno Becker, husband of the first vice president of the Ecuadorian
11:08Assembly, Michel Manceno, is the manager of the company and Silvia Sanchez, a personal friend
11:12of Alvaro Novoa, father of the head of state, is the president of the company.
11:16Suspiciously, and despite this being a flagrant case, the process is experiencing unusual delays
11:22and the trial hearings have been postponed several times.
11:31An Ecuador delegation from all provinces participated this Saturday in the first day of the National
11:36Convention of the Citizen Revolution Movement, which is being held in the city of Manta in
11:40the province of Manabe in the northwest of the country.
11:43During the convention, working groups were set up to analyze the issues such as strengthening
11:47the movement's organization, assessing the legislative block, local government management,
11:51the updating of the political ideology, and the analysis of the national, regional,
11:54and international contexts.
11:56The meeting is being held at the Manabe Educational Unit Coliseum and brings together
12:00about 500 delegates in person.
12:03Going to the movement's leader, Rafael Correa, more than 14,000 members will participate virtually
12:08in the internal election process on Sunday.
12:13In Chile, the situation with the fires affecting the central and southern parts of the country
12:29has worsened in recent hours to such an alarming degree that the President of the Republic,
12:34Gabriel Boric, has decided to declare a state of catastrophe.
12:37The measure is aimed at the regions of Newbley and Bio Bio, which have reported a worsening of the disaster.
12:42Local authorities in cities such as Penko in the Bio Bio region reported that after 1.30 a.m. local time,
12:48the fire has continued to spread, affecting densely populated areas, and there may be people trapped,
12:54as shown in some videos circulating on social media.
12:57The Newbley region is also on red alert, with more than 4,700 hectares affected by the flames.
13:02After the announcement by the Minister of the Interior, Álvaro Elizalde, about the presidential decree,
13:07a post by the head of state on his social media accounts followed,
13:10informing that resources are available for the affected areas.
13:13An evacuation process has been initiated for the El Durazno sector,
13:23due to the forest fire affecting that area in the Penko commune.
13:27We ask people to evacuate calmly, with their emergency kit,
13:31following the instructions of the personnel who are managing the emergency on the ground.
13:36The Director of the National Forestry Corporation of Chile, Norma Perez,
13:41confirmed that all resources remain deployed to combat the forest emergency affecting the country.
13:47In an advance of 600 hectares, we must mention that we are working with all the resources we have available,
13:54deployed throughout the area affected by this fire, in order to contain it as soon as possible.
13:59Additionally, we want to inform the community that we are dealing with 10 more fires in the region,
14:04for which we have deployed all our resources to try to contain this emergency.
14:09For this reason, I once again urge people to take extra precautions.
14:1564% of U.S. citizens disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of the economy,
14:20according to the latest poll results published on the subject in the country.
14:24The study conducted by PBS, NPR and Marist, prestigious organizations in media and polling,
14:30reveals that only 36% of the population agrees with the White House's economic management.
14:35This figure shows that since December 2025, when the research was conducted,
14:40the approval has dropped to 48%, the lowest since the end of President Trump's first term.
14:45However, the data is not surprising.
14:47Currently, 7 out of 10 citizens consider the cost of living unaffordable,
14:51and 45% of citizens are concerned about rising prices.
14:55And in the United States, a federal judge in Minnesota has imposed news restrictions
15:05on how immigration agents may interact with demonstrators,
15:08following escalating tensions between protesters and federal officers in the state.
15:12U.S. District Judge Kate M. Menendez ruled that immigration agents are prohibited
15:16from retaliating against individuals who are engaged in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity.
15:22The order also bans the use of pepper spray and other crowd dispersal tools
15:26when responding to constitutionally protected speech.
15:29In addition, the ruling states that federal agents may not stop or detain protestors
15:33who are in vehicles unless they are forcibly obstructing or interfering with official duties.
15:38The decision aims to safeguard First Amendment rights while clarifying the limits
15:42of federal enforcement actions during public demonstrations.
15:52At least eight NATO member countries have issued a statement against U.S. President Donald Trump
15:59amid his attempts to annex Greenland.
16:01Among the countries that have signed the declaration are Denmark, Finland, France, Germany,
16:05the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
16:07The document states that as members of the military bloc,
16:10they are committed to strengthening Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest.
16:15They expressed solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland
16:19and reaffirmed their willingness to engage in dialogue with Washington
16:22based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
16:25The document also refers to the tariff measures imposed by the Trump administration
16:28in retaliation for the European military deployment in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland.

17:11UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called on the nations of the world to unite
17:15to fight against threats that seek to undermine world peace and disrupt the multilateral system.
17:19The head of the international organization during an event held in London on Saturday night
17:23in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly,
17:27delivered a speech calling on the countries of the world to unite and fight for the preservation
17:31of multilateral values in favor of peace, understanding and mutual respect.
17:35Guterres called this year the beginning of a new chapter in international history
17:39which requires a perspective of interconnectivity and solidarity.
17:43At the end of his speech, the Secretary General highlighted the organization's role
17:46in the fight against the proliferation of conflicts, support for sources of eco-sustainable development
17:51and the protection of human rights.
17:54For eight decades, the General Assembly has been the place the world comes together to help advance peace,
18:05promote sustainable development and safeguard human rights.
18:10By its nature, the work of the General Assembly may not always be straightforward or seamless,
18:18but it is a mirror of our world, its divisions and its hopes.
18:24And it is the stage on which our shared story played out.
18:29Today, we are entering a new chapter of that story.
18:34In this moment, when the values of multilateralism are being chipped away,
18:39it is up to us, in our capacity as professionals, as voters and as members of organizations like the U.N.A.U.K., to take a stand.
18:52More than ever, the world needs civil society movements that are fearless and persistent,
18:58that make it impossible for leaders to look away.
19:02The General Assembly, which we celebrate today, exists because of a simple truth.
19:08Humanity is strongest when we stand as one.
19:12Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the General Assembly and Elena Baerbock,
19:15warn of the war in violation of the principles of the United Nations chartered by member states
19:19and permanent members of the Security Council.
19:22I can't stop thinking. How many blows can an international order can our United Nations endure?
19:31For can any country truly sleep in peace if we simply accept that more and more member states,
19:39including some permanent members of the Security Council, violate the Charter's core principles?
19:48When compromise shifts from mutual accommodation to the slow erosion or the deliberate dismantling of the very foundations of this institution,
20:01it is no longer compromise, but compromising.
20:06The Russian Ministry of Defense shot down 63 Ukrainian drones flying over several regions of the country.
20:21The air defense system intercepted and destroyed aircraft in the region of Bogorod, Bryansk and nearby localities.
20:27The military authorities specified that in defense of operations, the Ukrainian army lost more than 430 soldiers.
20:33In addition, they specified that during the last two weeks, eight sediments controlled by Kyiv were liberated in border areas.
20:40The Russian Ministry of Transportation plans to expand its air services with Saudi Arabia in order to increase the number of international destinations.
20:53Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin highlighted that Oman Air plans to increase flights to Moscow as well as to cities such as St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ekaterinburg and Sochi.
21:03He also recalled that the airline began flights from the tourist center of Salala to the Russian capital at the end of 2025.
21:09Nikitin confirmed that an active negotiating position is being maintained with friendly countries.
21:18And in Turkey, hundreds of people gathered in Istanbul to express their support for the Iranian people in the face of U.S. and Israeli threats.
21:27The rally organized by the World Resistance platform with Iranian and Palestinian flags in front of the Iranian consulate as an act of international solidity.
21:36At the event, they condemned the policies of Tel Aviv and Washington, which seek to control the sovereign countries of the region.
21:42They also warned that attempts to impose international administrations in the Gaza Strip are an attempt to disarm the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas.
21:51The Palestinian-Israeli attacks on civilian areas in the Gaza Strip have resulted in a severe water crisis in light of the continuing Israeli raids.
22:20The drinking water supply was paralyzed after the damage to the pipes.
22:24According to experts, the rainwater drainage and sewage system is one of the most damaged sectors with a reported 80% decrease in capacity.
22:31In this regard, Palestinian authorities warned that the people of Gaza are facing difficult conditions amidst the destruction caused by the Zionist aggression.
22:45The Iraqi Ministry of Defense completed on Sunday the full takeover of the Ain al-Assad airbase located in the western province of Anbar following the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops.
22:54The chief of staff of the Iraqi army, Abdul Amir Jarala, supervised the assignment of duties.
22:59The senior official stressed the importance of ensuring the security and protection of the base, which is the second largest in the area.
23:05The withdrawal of Pentagon troops was part of an agreement between Washington and Baghdad in 2024 with the aim of reducing the U.S. presence in the region.
23:14Pressure for this demand increased after it was confirmed that Pentagon troops in Anbar had been involved in terrorist operations, which Washington tried to disguise as combat against Daesh.
