00:00Phoenix Suns fans, let's talk about that New York trip and Devin Booker. His status for the
00:06Knicks game was truly up in the air until the final injury report dropped, but we all know,
00:11when it comes to playing at Madison Square Garden, Booker finds a way. In his nine career games at
00:16MSG, he's now averaging over 31 points. That building brings out his absolute best. After the
00:22game on Saturday, Booker told reporters, I always say when I see young players that come in here
00:27that really don't care about it. You're not a true Hooper. To have all the Knicks alumni here
00:32tonight on top of that, a bunch of living legends in the building, you have to feel it, man. That's
00:37what it's all about. A lot of those guys laid the groundwork for us to get the league where it's at
00:42now. You got to show love, you got to respect the history that's come through. Now, he was listed
00:47as questionable dealing with that ankle injury from the Miami Heat game last Tuesday. He missed
00:53just one game Thursday against Detroit and stated he'll be ready for Monday in Brooklyn. On Saturday,
01:00he played through it and led the Suns with 27 points, shooting 7 for 18 from the field and 12
01:06for 14 from the free throw line. Coach Jordan Ott told reporters, he played both the entire first and
01:13third quarters. Loves playing here. He was obviously not healthy. Didn't do a ton of shoot around today.
01:19Did nothing yesterday. He put himself out there. Running out of words on what to say about what he
01:27does for us on a nightly basis. Even when his shot doesn't feel great because of the ankle,
01:32he's able to get to the free throw line, which really calmed us down, which really helped us
01:37appreciate his effort. Booker said the main discomfort came when he had to plant off that ankle.
01:43His teammate Grayson Allen added, I've seen him play through a lot of stuff. When he wants to be out
01:48there, and if he can run up and down that court, he'll be out there. It wasn't his most efficient
01:53shooting night, but he manufactured points. And despite that, he made major history.
01:58Devin Booker entered the NBA's all-time top 100 scoring list, passing Phoenix Suns legend Steve Nash
02:05in the process. He entered the game just one point behind Nash and passed him with the game's opening
02:11basket, a driving layup. He was then nine points away from the next name, Nikola Vucevic. Booker hit
02:18two free throws with 2.32 left in the first half to tie Vucevic, and then another with 1.28 left in
02:24the second quarter to pass the Chicago Bulls center, moving into 99th place all-time. He finished the
02:30half with 11 points and added 16 in the second half. After the game, Colin Gillespie described him with
02:35one word, dog. Gillespie said, dog, Hooper man, we appreciate it, we need him out there, he gives us
02:43a different look when he's out there, obviously being able to do everything, score the ball,
02:47facilitator, the gravity that he has, so we appreciate him battling for us, it's the garden,
02:52he wasn't gonna miss this. We all knew that. He added to those legendary MSG stats, now averaging 30.8
03:00points per game there. So, Booker is now 99th on the all-time list. Looking at the active players
03:07around him, he's now 323 points behind Brook Lopez, 16 points ahead of Nikola Vucevic, 107 points ahead
03:15of Bradley Beal, and 255 points ahead of Nikola Jokic. This season, Booker's been a model of
03:21consistency, Saturday was his 19th game with at least 25 points, and he's averaging 25.3 points per game for
03:29the year. Up next, the Suns travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Monday at 5.30 p.m. That game,
03:36followed by matchups with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday and the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, will
03:41finish this six-game road trip. So, what's your level of confidence in this team closing out this
03:47long road trip, strong after a gritty performance like that?
