00:00Have you ever witnessed a performance so explosive, it rewrites the record books in real time?
00:06In a recent game against the Pelicans, Suns guard Grayson Allen achieved a personal milestone
00:10by scoring a career high of 42 points, while also setting a new franchise record for the
00:16most three-pointers made in a single game. The Suns triumphed with a score of 121-98.
00:22Allen's impressive performance included shooting 12 out of 17 from the field,
00:26with a remarkable 10 out of 15 from beyond the arc, all within just 28 minutes of play.
00:32Additionally, he contributed 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds, while also converting 8 of his 10
00:39free-throw attempts. This game also saw Allen tie with Aaron Gordon for the highest number of three
00:45pointers made in a single game this season, as Gordon had previously hit 10 against the Warriors
00:50on October 23rd. Currently, Allen is enjoying a standout season, averaging a career-best 18.6
00:57points per game. Notably, he has never averaged double-digit field goal attempts in his career,
01:02but he has increased that number to 13.6 following Monday's game. Furthermore, Allen is shooting at an
01:08impressive 43.8% from three-point range. His performance on Monday also placed him in a tie
01:14with Tyrese Maxey for the most games this season with at least four made three-pointers. With both
01:20players achieving this feat in seven games, prior to Allen's record-breaking performance, the Suns'
01:25franchise record for three-pointers made in a game was nine, a mark set by seven different players,
01:33including Allen himself on three occasions, as well as Channing Fry, Aaron Baines, Landry Shammett,
01:39and Cam Johnson. Quentin Richardson and Rex Chapman are notable figures in basketball history.
01:44During his rookie season in 2019, Allen achieved his previous career high of 40 points in an
01:50overtime defeat against the Clippers while he was with the Jazz. As the Suns held a 25-point lead,
01:56Allen exited the game for the last time at the 8.40 mark, receiving a standing ovation from the
02:02crowd. With this victory, the Suns' record improved to 6-5 for the season, marking their fifth win in the
02:08last six games. Does a performance like this solidify Grayson Allen as one of the most improved
02:14players this season?
