13:30there and i recognized the smell and when i opened up the oven there were two inches of rat droppings
13:45in the bottom of this oven that these people were sleeping in and so i cleaned it out i did my job
13:55because that's what you do and i told him this place should not have anyone in it but
14:04he would never address the issues just clean it up the best you can
14:10i went into this position knowing that i would be cleaning five guest residents
14:20and then it comes to pass that now i'm doing robert young's personal residence
14:26the amount of dishes that i would clean on a daily basis made me feel like i was cleaning up after
14:35seven seven people there was no concept of picking up after yourself
14:43none i went into the master bathroom i don't think the toilet had been running for months

14:56so you can imagine what it looked like it was like a porta potty but in the master living quarters

15:31he was kind of like a frat boy right and he was bringing a patient in there into this non-sterile
15:38environment to live and be treated it's like what like i don't understand how he could hold himself
15:45out as a medical professional and have such a non-sterile environment
15:54i was there monday through friday i was not there on the weekend
15:58friday i left one of the patients that i had a relationship with he was extremely ill so ill that
16:06i thought wow i may not see him
16:12when i came back monday morning the nurse and her daughter-in-law were sitting on the curb
16:18outside this client's resident crying
16:24she was so upset because
16:26they put this client in the back of the suburban not the back seat the back of the suburban
16:40and took him to orange county to a hospital so that he did not die at the ranch
16:45they did not want that on their property
16:51but what was even worse is that when i went into my client's residence
17:00and saw the condition of the way he expelled his colonic
17:10happened on the bed a trail to the bathroom happened on the toilet it was green everything
17:18of green green juice green colonic green everything had it been blood it would have looked like a murder scene
17:26i cleaned up i sanitized i did everything went up to the office and i told the manager that i quit
17:40i never spoke to robert young again
17:44dr young was uh he was cagey he was crafty and he would say to his potential patients you must follow
17:53my protocol and then you will be cured and if they went off his protocols then they would die
17:58if they left they would die but meanwhile these people are deteriorating in front of their loved
18:05one's eyes his language was enough to always divert blame away from him and onto the patient

18:37so she comes to the ranch and robert young starts pumping her full of fluids
18:42one day on a ranch the woman suddenly died however i believe she didn't die from pancreatic cancer
18:51i think she died from congestive heart failure from being pumped with too much fluid
18:56robert young went into a panic oh my god i've got a dead body on my bench what do i do now
19:02he didn't want anything that would bring the authorities to the ranch
19:12i'm 80 years old chronologically i'm an old fart but in my mind i don't feel that way and in my heart i

19:39in 2010 she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer they said we can't cure it
19:53then a friend of vicky's introduced vicky to the teachings of robert young
19:58once we were at the ranch robert young said i've been doing this for years and i can cure you from
20:09cancer you have to push the traditional medicine aside the body will heal itself if you do the right
20:18things forward the very first day of the ranch you start your protocols robert young believes that
20:31through respiration defecation urination and perspiration that you can eliminate the toxins out

20:54a lot of his program was based on colonics lymph massages green juices alkaline water and
21:02you get really really sick and tracy did according to dr robert young she was detoxing from all the acid
21:10in her body when vicky started her treatments i started noticing that she was losing weight
21:18her legs were were swelling up but dr robert young says it's working you know let's analogize this to
21:26somebody who's sick going into the er and be given green smoothies and colonics one-stop shopping regardless
21:34of the disease really can you imagine like a cure-all an elixir it's not 1910 here so he bamboozled people
21:46at one point all these patients were up in the swimming pool and the ladies brought over some shakes
21:53for them to drink and robert young happened to be there and vicky said i'd love to have a sandwich
22:02he said you can't have a sandwich vicky sandwich is the worst thing for you
22:08so the bill started adding up and so i asked if i could just work in the kitchen he told me that i
22:16could and he said he would deduct from my bill when you go into the kitchen there was four fridges there
22:26and the fourth fridge was where he stored his secret stash of his eclairs and donuts and sandwiches he
22:33would buy sandwiches and then eat them later in the day when we were kind of all settling some of the
22:39ladies caught him eating sandwiches at trader joe's eating it with potato chips that doesn't gel
22:47it goes against what he's teaching everybody to do now you know okay maybe he feels like he doesn't need
22:56it but if he truly believes that these green drinks and whatever else will keep the body healthy he
23:05should not have at least the processed foods and the sweets anywhere near his house right i mean
23:10he's he's kind of being two-faced he's being hypocritical here the only time i started questioning
23:18him is when i started physically seeing vicky deteriorate become emitiated and i said vicky this is not
23:28working and she shared my thoughts with robert young and he said to her you need to have some iv infusions
23:41that i can do for you he never told us that the infusion was bacon soda salt is the savior of your life if your
23:56fluids lose the salt you die and so you ask any emergency care what is the first thing they do
24:04and then someone that's in a trauma they hook them up to an ivy of saline solution or sodium bicarbonate
24:11i have read that sodium bicarbonate baking soda is not going to hurt you really but what can be
24:20harmful depending upon what you're suffering from is all that fluid going into you that you may not be
24:25able to eliminate very quickly and you're just going to build up and that can be dangerous to your organs
24:33so we both sat down with him and said dr young this is going to be the last day that we're going to be
24:40here we're going back to the traditional medicine and very callous his response was if you leave vicky
24:54you are going to be dead in a week i have never told anyone not to see their doctor i have no power over
25:05anyone how can i be responsible when i am not in complete control
25:13when we left the ranch i looked at vicky i said we'll never come back here
25:22that's when we started traditional medicine she started improving
25:25she was walking she regained her color she gained weight i was happy
25:38towards the middle of january 2013
25:43vicky said i'm not feeling that well i said let's go to the hospital
25:48and they said vicky we can't do anything more for you
25:56and on fourth of february at 703 in the morning she took her last breath in my arms
26:05and there was a tremendous sadness
26:14but there's also a big relief that she wasn't suffering anymore
26:23i do believe dr young shortened her life
26:28people have to make their own decisions and they have to be responsible for those decisions
26:36i didn't make them sick they did that to themselves i can teach a person that they need to be empowered
26:43in order to be successful because after they leave the ranch they're on their own

27:10my name is kelly despotakis my name is linda shaw our mother dolores mccullough was a follower of robert young
27:19our mother she was never well she had gotten hepatitis b from a dirty needle when linda and i were
27:27very little either at our birth or soon after we discovered in the early 2000s that she had
27:35cirrhosis of the liver non-alcohol related from the hepatitis that she got from the dirty needle when we were little
27:43we cried in the doctor's office it was devastating it's a death sentence it is a death sentence and we knew that
27:54so our mom had this absolutely wacky friend katherine she went to visit her friend for tea
28:02and on katherine's coffee table was the ph miracle dr robert oh young and my mom picked it up and read it
28:11well she was fascinated she was fascinated she thought wow there's some there's some things in
28:16here that she could get behind so april of 2008 she called dr young and he suggested that she come out to
28:26the ranch this is the file we prepared linda prepared for her to take to show me yours 20 years of her
28:35medical history so he was fully versed in what her condition was basically take care of her this is
28:44this is what she's out here for take care of her our mom came back in mid-april 2008
28:55my mom was walking down the hallway towards me and i just i remember just like covering my face like
29:00grabbing my face saying what did you do she probably had 50 pounds of fluid on her and
29:09come to find out that robert young had ramped up her salt intake
29:18robert young kept basically saying you have to get sicker before you before you get better
29:23and then to be honest after speaking to him we can understand why our mom was so convinced he would
29:31help her we would hang up the phone and look at each other like what just happened i guess she's staying
29:39so she went back to the ranch when she was there that second time the first four days
29:44she only had water and salt salt and cirrhosis they don't do not jive so this is when for us
29:53things started going a little bit south our spidey senses were going off
30:00we just said mom you need to come home but she was in such bad shape that linda had to fly
30:09from new york to san diego to get her so this is insane you ready i couldn't get my mother on the
30:17plane to new york until i paid her balance which was the ranch over 14 000 dollars was not allowed
30:25to take my mother this is literally her ransom 14 000 and the memo line is for mom to get mom
30:35this is all he cared about was getting his money that was due him
30:43so waiting at the curb for my mother here she comes from an employee at the ranch was driving her
30:49puts her in a wheelchair and all i saw my mother's skin and bones literally was sucking on green juice
30:59i tell you i saw red i walked up didn't even say hello to my mother i was desperate to hug
31:09grabbed it out of her hand and just saw this woman and just whipped it at this lady hit her
31:15didn't care i wanted to hurt her i wanted to hurt her and i said here's your check give me my mother
31:21got my mother and off we went
31:30so once she got over her embarrassment she got she got really angry and she said we need to stop him
31:37and then we got to work okay so linda and kelly start looking into young's background his education and
31:46his training and what they find is really alarming he's not a medical doctor we said what we know about
31:57the ivs we know about the small amounts of food but we thought our mother was under the care of a doctor
32:05he went by dr robert young a medical doctor we trusted him and we said
32:12oh my gosh who is this human being like who who is this person
32:22so duck do i have to call him doctor he got an undergraduate master's and phd in two and a half
32:30years it was a diploma mill in alabama they've since closed it but he bought his diplomas i mean
32:37the guy was a total fraud so you're wearing a white coat you're called dr young did you portray
32:44yourself as a medical doctor absolutely not when people came to the ranch they were signed a waiver
32:53and that waiver said i understand that robert young is not a medical doctor
33:00you know what boat stands for right break out another thousand
33:16robert young is a lot like a fisherman he'll keep you on the line for as long as you can
33:21and then when he's done with you he'll throw you back
33:27my name is jim clark i am an investigator with the san diego county district attorney's office
33:36dolores's daughters contacted the medical board of california and reported what was happening
33:43so our office decided to investigate this further we talked to the patient's families about what was
33:52going on there at the ranch and how their family member was being treated what treatments they were
33:56receiving and we found out that ivs were being administered and lots of the times it was robert
34:02young giving them directly mistake number one was when dr young expanded his business from the
34:09wellness and his diet and supplement world to treating people with diseases that was a big mistake because
34:17he's diagnosing people treating them and making promises about a cure mistake number two is when he
34:24starts the iv treatments because he's breaking the skin with a needle of patients and in california
34:31that is illegal unless you are a doctor or say a nurse working under a doctor that wasn't happening
34:40i have never done an iv i had people that worked at the ranch who were licensed to do those things
34:47but this came up you know where one had to be removed and i removed it you know so yes
34:54and if that's my crime wow unbelievable
34:58in 2013 we served search warrant at three different locations the bulk of the evidence
35:09we got were medical records we found that the iv equipment and ivs stored in a shed over one of his
35:17employees residents and on the boxes that these ivs came in and they were labeled with ph miracle center
35:29for robert young these ivs were important part of his protocols and when i say important part i'm not
35:36talking about medically speaking i'm talking about financially speaking he's probably paying nine or ten dollars
35:44per iv but he's charging five hundred dollars back to the patient
35:52i had a licensed medical doctor on the ranch he was the licensed medical doctor in california
35:59he was the one that was writing the prescriptions for the iv during the search warrant of the ranch we
36:05found documentation that had a fee splitting agreement between robert young and this doctor for ivs
36:13so at 500 bucks a pop this doctor was receiving 40 percent the cost of the ivs
36:21robert young wasn't in this to cure people he knew he couldn't cure people
36:27all right this was all about money this is all about the con
36:31for every patient that we were able to identify that he personally gave ivs to or diagnosed we
36:42charged a single charge of practicing medicine without a license and then we also charged grand theft
36:49based on the amount of money taken from these people he knew what he was doing was wrong because
36:55he was covered up that's consciousness of guilt that's actually a term that jurors are instructed
37:00on you know before they deliberate that they can consider whatever conduct you know the judge tells
37:05them it shows evidence that he knew what he was doing was wrong and the jurors can accept it or not
37:11going into this trial we were hopeful that we would convict on everything however to robert young's credit
37:19he hired paul fink's everybody knows who paul thinks he's sandy calent i mean i've been doing
37:28this almost 50 years hey this is uh this one's a one-of-a-kind the assistant district attorney said that
37:36she was going to prove that he had murdered 15 people his attorney at the time said this isn't
37:42a murder case this is practicing medicine without license the prosecution's idea was he over promised
37:51to desperate people that their cancer could be cured the defense was no there was no over promising
38:01sometimes people who are very sick hear what they want to hear people want to believe that this was
38:06a cure robert young's position is this diet is beneficial but he does not promise that cancer will be cured
38:17the question has always been where does salesmanship end and fraud begin
38:25in the end there was a hung jury or mistrial on the grand theft charges but young later
38:30pled guilty to those charges the jury did convict him of two counts of practicing
38:35medicine without a license he was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison
38:40but it only served 40 days in a county jail we live in a country where big pharma is big business and
38:53big pharma's number one cash cow which is a trillion dollar a year industry is cancer you would think wow
39:04the guy that cures cancer is going to get paraded around the world and brought out as a hero
39:09but the reality is you get character assassinated and you lose your freedom so that you can't speak out
39:16so robert why are you sitting in prison i am a victim of a system that is corrupt
39:23but what do you say about the people you did treat who are no longer with us are they victims too
39:29all i've done is educate we were trying to empower people to learn how to take care of themselves
39:37i have nothing to gain out of this i'm not looking for recognition i'm not looking for celebrity i'm not
39:44looking for money i'm looking for people to wake up to the truth robert young is a shyster he's a liar
39:54he's a narcissist he's a criminal he takes advantage of people if more people would listen
40:03and follow dr young's protocol the world would be a healthier place yes when tracy got home she had
40:12been diagnosed for 14 months earlier and she passed away shortly thereafter in october of 2012. time that
40:22is your most valuable asset you own she lost all that time with her family with her kids we are so
40:30proud to be dolores mccullough's daughters because we feel like she crumbled his empire it was her letter
40:38that brought him to the attention of brought him to his knees and it is a satisfying feeling
40:56i heard a rumor through the grapevine that you started helping prisoners with your program is that
41:01true you know i don't want to announce anything specific i can say this i'm working at the juice
41:08factory and we're preparing juices for the whole prison system california so today we did over 900 gallons
