Fnatic sOAZ interviewed at IEM Cologne
Transcript
00:00Hey guys, this is Shox here for SK Gaming, still at IAM Cologne with SOAS, top laner for Team Fnatic.
00:21SOAS, how are you feeling? Great performance yesterday.
00:23Good. We did Trezor in our group without so much practice.
00:29Because we didn't have internet, so I think we did really good.
00:34Absolutely. Some people say that you are one of the best, if not the best, top laner in EOS.
00:39What do you think personally are your strengths? Is it tactical decision making? Is it your intuition, mental strength?
00:46The thing is, it's really hard to know every match up in top lane because you can play a lot of heroes.
00:52But to be a good top laner, I think we need to play a lot of champions. And I don't think I am the best, but maybe one of them.
01:05I think Wicked is really strong with what champions he can play, but he don't play a lot of champions.
01:12So, yeah. Cubone is also good. But I think mostly Wicked and me, I would say.
01:20You're known for trying new champions when sometimes people stick with the champions that are known to be OP or strong at the moment.
01:26You go for a Kha'Zix pick, a Jace pick. Do you think that is the key to your strength in top lane?
01:32The thing is, Jace was really strong before, like at Season 2 Qualifier. He was dealing so much damage. So, yeah. I was playing Jace because he was really strong.
01:46And he was new. It was a bit like Nidalee. You can change form and stuff like that. It was cool to play him. But no, he's not so viable.
01:56You can play him like... It's not really a bruiser. It's more than AD. So, you need to go for boot first and just poke. But you can't really go super aggressive with him.
02:10All right. Anything else?
02:12Can you share some of the secrets under the Season 3 patch? How are you going to dominate top lane, notwithstanding the Black Cleavers, of course?
02:19I didn't play much on the new patch. I, you know, like maybe 10 games maximum. So, I can't say much about it.
02:33All right. You've been in so many teams. You've been in AAA, Millennium, Absolute Legends for a while. Now you're in Fnatic. Do you feel like this is your end stop and you will get the biggest success you'll ever get with Team Fnatic?
02:43I don't know. I don't know. Are they trolling me?
02:50I think, yeah, we did the best parkour in Fnatic. In EA, we did also really good. But we didn't do really well offline. Like at IPL. We did good at Hannover. 4th place. But that's all.
03:12In Fnatic, since, like, Reckles joined us. We are doing really well. And it's probably, like, the last event for Reckles. We don't know if he can play Poland with us or not. So, I hope we'll do at least top three. And I want to win, of course.
03:36How do you react to the fact that people say that Fnatic is going to get a lot worse when Reckles leaves?
03:43I don't think so. Reckles is a really good AD. But it's just, like, the bot lane needs to fit each other's playstyle. Like...
03:55N-rated is really aggressive. And Reckles was a bit more passive. And N-rated pushed him to Arrasmo and stuff like that. But I don't think so. I don't know. We'll see. Like...
04:13We are thinking even of maybe N-A-80 or stuff like that. So we don't really know. And we can maybe find a way to keep Reckles with us. We still don't know. We are waiting for Riot to...
04:31Give us some information. That's all. Okay. You don't seem too concerned.
04:38I really want to keep playing with Reckles. But I don't know if it's possible.
04:43Maybe a question for your fans in France. How do people see the sport in France?
04:49Well... Let's say that... Let's say that... With the event Tales of the Lane of Chips et Noyes...
04:58We were able to see the sport in France. They did it in a big room at the Paris casino.
05:06And so... It worked pretty well. It was filled. And everyone was happy with the result, I think.
05:18And... I think it was a success. Let's say.
05:27Okay. Thank you very much. And maybe in English, to finish the interview, some words for all the fans, all the Fnatic fans out there.
05:34Yeah. Thanks for the interview first. Thanks for all the fans for supporting us and me.
05:41And thanks to Fnatic and the sponsor.
05:47Thank you very much for this interview and good luck in the rest of the tournament.
05:50Thanks for listening.
