00:00The local government of Abra de Ilog moved to set the record straight,

00:04firmly denying claims that three Mangian children were killed during the military encounter with the NPA.

00:10Mayor Maria Gloria Montenegro-Constanino said community leaders confirmed that no civilians were hurt,

00:18putting rumors to rest despite statements from militant groups that told a different story.

00:23Authorities clarified that only one college student, Jarlene Doydora, died while film activist Chantal Anicoche was rescued alive

00:33and remains in army custody by her own consent.

00:37The LGU raised concerns over uncoordinated research activities in the area,

00:42saying such efforts should not happen under the radar, especially during the holiday season.

00:47Backed by a provincial resolution, the military and local officials stood their ground,

00:53vowing cooperation to maintain peace and counter misinformation spreading on the ground.
