00:00All right, what's up Amaya and today I will tell you how to make a bootable Linux USB
00:04drive using your Android phone.
00:07This is the app known as EdgeDroid.
00:11Search EdgeDroid on Google and you can get it on your Google Play Store.
00:15Let's install it.
00:17Now let me show you which Linux I'm gonna use.
00:21So it does not work with, you know, Windows or something like that.
00:27So you're gonna only use Linux.
00:33So for this I'm gonna be using the Linux Mint.
00:37This is probably the best Linux that you will need.
00:41It is very lightweight and easy to set up so I'm gonna use this.
00:45So let's download it.
00:47It got a lot of features and is very useful in a lot of stuff.
00:52And is very portable as well.
00:54You can use it without installation and also install it if you like.
00:58So it's completely free and open source as all Linux are and all Linux should be.
01:07And you can run it using a live USB stick.
01:11This is the thing that I'm gonna use today.
01:13Well, I found this app when I lost my Windows on my computer.
01:19So I had no other way to make a portable Windows device because my computer wasn't running
01:23and did not have any other computer with me.
01:27So I had to make a portable USB drive with Linux because Windows doesn't work here.
01:34Let's download the Linux first.
01:36I'm gonna download the world version.
01:40So when I lost my Windows, I had no other way just to install Linux using this Android
01:45phone.
01:46So I used the Android app and let's make a portable live USB drive.
01:52In the next video, I will also teach you how to make a bootable Windows device using Linux.
01:57So that will be very useful for you if you're into using Windows.
02:01But you cannot make a portable USB drive with Windows.
02:06So okay, let's open the app and then select the file.
02:12In the downloads, I have this.
02:14Now let's plug in your USB, we're gonna need something known as a converter or something
02:19like that.
02:20Okay, I have connected the USB and let's wait for it to write the image on my USB drive with
02:26the Linux Mint version.
02:28Let's wait for it to finish the writing process.
02:31Alright, so the writing process is almost complete, but the progress bar is not showing.
02:48Weird, but it will still work, I hope so.
02:52Okay, the writing is almost finished and write finished, let's unplug the USB.
03:00We do not tap to fix the button, it's not gonna work with us because we have just made a bootable
03:06USB drive.
03:07This is simply gonna format the device.
03:10Okay now let me just come to my laptop.
03:14I'm gonna put in the USB.
03:16I know it's a very weird and very old USB but it works like a charm.
03:21Now let's get into the boot menu.
03:30And then we need to select the SMI USB disk.
03:35And here you can see we got the Linux startup.
03:38Let's start Linux Mint, Cinnamon 64-bit version which I have just completely made a bootable
03:44USB of.
03:47Let's wait for it to boot up.
03:50This takes time for the first time but it does not get this often.
03:55So no need to worry about the speed.
03:59Also it also depends on the speed of your USB and your USB port.
04:07This is the Linux Mint logo.
04:09It is currently loading.
04:24Yeah yeah I know I'm not recording in a right way but.
04:29Now as you can see the Linux is completely working through the USB.
04:34And if you got a damaged Windows and you still want to install Windows, simply install Linux
04:40on the drive.
04:42And then there is another way that I will show you later in the next video maybe.
04:47Make a bootable USB of Windows from that software that I will show you later.
04:57By the way that software name is Ventoy, I'll make a tutorial of that I'll make sure.
05:03But this is how you make a portable USB drive without using any computer, simply using your
05:10rendered phone.
05:11Edgewood app is very useful in this case.
05:15Note to remember, you only can make a portable USB drive off Linux.
05:20You cannot use Windows or any other software.
05:23So Linux is the way to go.
05:25If you are using Ubuntu, Kali Linux or using Linux Mint, Arc Linux, all of the Linux's are supported.
05:32You can also check their app and search for the.
05:36I will recommend that you use Linux Mint because that is the lightweight and easy to install
05:42app.
05:43So you do not have to worry about that.
05:45So it is working completely here as you can see.
05:48Anyway that's been it.
05:49Thanks for watching.
05:50I will catch you in the next one.
05:51Take care.
05:52Simply just see there is a lot of apps.
05:54Let me show you how you can install it as well.
05:57So from here, if you open this install Linux Mint option, it will start a setup that will
06:06help you install Linux Mint out of your USB 2 on your drive that is installed in your PC
06:15or your laptop.
06:17So you can use Linux all the way without using Windows, simply it is not working.
06:27Yep I am using a USB that is very slow, so insurance terms require a lot of time.
06:47So let me show you how to install Linux Mint.
06:48So let me show you how to install Linux Mint.
06:53OK the board menu is finally opened.
06:55Let's select English.
06:56English again.
06:59And if you want to connect to a network, I don't want to connect to a network right now.
07:04Well, I also do not want to install Kali Linux, oh I am sorry, Linux Mint.
07:16This is just for showing you how this works, yep this takes a lot of time.
07:21So this is how it works, anyway I am not going to install it right now, so I am going to quit.
07:28You can install it or search Google to see the normal and complete process of installing
07:34Kali Linux Mint on your laptop using completely an Android device or a USB.
07:44So also if you have quit the, I mean shut off the system, you need to remove the installation
07:51media and then press enter.
07:53This will completely shut down the laptop or PC that you are using or computer.
08:01OK now it is shutting down.
08:02Anyway that has been it.
08:03Thanks for watching.
08:04I will catch you in the next one.
08:05Take care.
08:06Hope this helps.
08:07Enjoy.
