‘ICE out for Good’ protests react to death of Renee Good in Minnesota

00:05of Renee Good by an Immigration Customs Enforcement Officer.

00:09The 37-year-old Minneapolis woman was shot three times by ICE officer Jonathan Ross after

00:15she allegedly blocked traffic and alerted neighbors that unmarked immigration authorities

00:20were in the area.

00:22She was a mother of three and an award-winning poet.

00:26What we do know is that a 37-year-old woman is dead and that she was shot by ICE.

00:36We've dreaded this moment since the early stages of this ICE presence in Minneapolis.

00:45Her death has become the focal point of national outrage over the U.S. government's sweeping

00:49immigration crackdown.

00:52It has now been reported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that the ICE agent, Jonathan

00:57Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the confrontation.

01:03You know, it's clearly established law that a vehicle driven by a person and used to harm

01:09someone is a deadly weapon.

01:11Deadly force is perfectly lawful when a threat is faced by a weapon.

01:15So I do believe that this officer used his training in this situation and will let the FBI continue

01:21the investigation to get it resolved.

01:23More than a thousand public protests and demonstrations were planned by the ICE Out for Good National

01:29Advocacy Group in the days since Renee Good's death on January 7th, 2026.

01:35The group say the demonstrations are in response to the escalation of ICE violence and the months

01:45long pattern of unchecked violence and abuse in marginalized communities across America.

01:52Mayor Jacob Frey strongly condemned the shooting and urged ICE agents to get out of his city.

01:58But I do have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE.

02:08To ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis.
