00:00Work is getting underway on the third phase of housing renewal in Holbeck, promising warmer and
00:06greener homes. At least 180 properties will be upgraded as part of the Heart of Holbeck
00:12regeneration programme. The council says improvements include new insulation, roofs,
00:17windows and doors. The contract has been awarded to regeneration firm Equans,
00:23using funding from a local regeneration fund grant and other schemes. Earlier phases
00:29improved around 300 homes and this phase is due to finish by the end of spring 2027.
00:36The work will make homes easier and more affordable to heat,
00:39which will lead to a reduction in fuel poverty and cold related illness.
