How have people in the north east found passport control since Brexit?

With reports of airport chaos, we asked people in our region what their experience has been like flying in and out of Europe.

00:00I haven't had a week in big queues. I'm concerned about the digital ID, the EDS that's coming.

00:08I think there'll be hold-ups there, but it's not a hold-up, it's the fact that they want facial recognition and their fingerprints.

00:15My husband seems to have a passport that when he puts down, he gets all panicky because it won't work.

00:22So then they take him out when he goes through the, you know, so...

00:26And what I also find is it's taking people out of work.

00:31Yeah, that job's doing some, that robotic thing's doing some of the job a person once did.

00:36I went to Spain in September and it didn't seem to be any problem, to be honest.

00:42But I've heard reports from friends, Malaga airport's been really bad, big, huge, you know, 2-hour queues and things.

00:49Obviously, it all depends on what the airport's, if they're good, if they're bad, if they've got alternative people who can't use them,

00:55if they've got back-up, you know, personal, sort of just normal port-up controls.
