People on the street: Brexit’s impending impact on European travel

We went out into the streets of Manchester to ask people on the streets what they thought about having to give fingerprint scans when travelling to European Union countries as a result of post-Brexit travel rules changing.

00:03on the Street. Today I'm going out into the city of Manchester to ask people about travel

00:07in the EU and that's because as of October this year, people travelling into the EU from

00:12the UK are now going to be expected to show a photo ID as well as scanning their fingerprints

00:16at the airport and we want to know if this is going to put people off travelling or is

00:19it just another part of a stressful process.

00:21I'm old enough to say I've owned Romain, so I didn't know about that and it's just

00:26a bit annoying but, again, we have to queue up in different ways in terms of passports

00:32so it's just kind of something we have to deal with.

00:35I think it's just going to be another slot in the machine of a stressful process.

00:39I mean, yeah, airports and travel can be quite stressful just in itself, it's just the

00:43luck, it's just the card we've been drawn and you've just got to roll with it.

00:47I think I get why people would be put off and I wasn't actually aware of it, trying to get

00:52an Irish passport at the moment so I could bypass that but I get why it would deter people.
