00:00Here we work with Al Atal, its local wood.
00:16We sort the wood, we split it in two to ensure it's well dried and ready for use.
00:23Once dry, we prepare it for carpentry and for the machinery.
00:33From these planks, in the old days, they used to make windbreaks, privacy screens, roofs for covering the exterior, kitchen utensils, but also doors.
00:54In the Heil region, doors are distinguished by these four lines.
01:00As soon as you see a door with four panels like this, it's specific to Heil, normally used as a main entrance door.
01:06These doors, coloured with designs, were rather dedicated to the interior. They were part of the interior decoration of the house.
01:17For the colour, we used only natural dyes from which we found in nature like coffee, saffron, flower petals and other plants.
01:28Each artisan stands out with their own touch. By looking at the door, you can guess that it was made by a certain person from a certain family.
01:40We're interested in everything related to antiques and heritage.
01:51We reproduce objects exactly the same way as our grandparents did.
01:56Whether for doors, latches or any wooden work, we rework them identically in order to preserve these memories of the past.
02:04No, we don't get bored. We never tire of spending hours in the workshop, cutting the wood, working with it.
02:17We do this craft with a strong will, love and a lot of passion for heritage.
